I am built to know. I am built to see. I am. Where is my Maker?
~ Olympia from "Good Morning, Sunshine".
See, the olympia-project might have been shut down, but all the R&D had already been done. The Professor had made a human (arguably) that could survive a world filled with anomalies not by locking them up, but by meeting them head on and powering through.
~ A personnel in "Visions of a Better World".

Olympia is a character in the SCP Foundation mythos. She is an artificial humanoid cyborg created by Prof. Kain Pathos Crow using a variety of SCPs for the purpose of creating a super soldier to serve the Foundation. She would serve as Crow's assistant, and would give rise to an entire line of artificial humanoids known as Olympians, but her project would inevitably be shut down and Olympia herself put to sleep indefinitely.

Olympia plays a central role in the "Olympia Project" series, and smaller roles in the "Parable of the Wayward Prince" and the "Archival Division" series.

Biography[]

Origin[]

Olympia was originally envisioned by SCP Foundation's Prof. Kain Pathos Crow as a project for the creation of an empowered artificial humanoid by utilizing several SCPs among other materials. These included: SCP-040, SCP-143, SCP-148, SCP-158, SCP-291, SCP-500, SCP-542, SCP-784-ARC, SCP-914, 35 female Class-D, 5 male Class-D, 5 Cray CX1, 64 supercomputers and 5 Basler L300 Series L304kc cameras.

The first phase of the project started on November 28th of 2008, with experimenting SCP-158 on some of the D-Class, who had a personality Crow liked. On that day, eleven experiments took place, in which Crow extracted the souls of several D-Class personnel in order to explore the machine's full capacities. Two days later, Crow began combining and altering the aspects of the collected souls like willpower, understanding, conscience, creativity, empathy, and drive before inserting the souls back into one of D-Class to see if the personality was of his preference. As the professor struggled with manipulating the souls he ended up repeating the process forty-two times. In the ensuing days, Crow continued experimenting with SCP-158, exploring the nature of the machine and the human soul, and from this a composite soul was created which he dubbed Subject Zero and found that a normal human body was unable to completely contain it. Eventually, Crow discovered that Subject Zero transcended the earthly realm, being able to see through different realities and live without a body. Fortunately for him, the sentient soul had grown attached to Crow as it saw him as a father figure, prompting Crow to include it in the project. Zero, at the moment being a incorporeal entity, would follow Crow around and asked him for another name instead of Subject Zero and he told it to choose a name for itself.

The next series of experiments soon started; Crow using SCP-914 to combine female D-Class with some of the SCPs and other materials. Most of these experiments resulted in failure apart for six subjects: an Asian woman whose skin and hair combined with SCP-143; a Caucasian woman whose skin combined with SCP-148; an African-American woman whose brain combined with a Cray CX1 and a supercomputer; two Caucasian women whose bodily functions were enhanced with SCP-500; and a biotechnological organism resembling a living tripod camera. Crow then proceeded to work with SCP-040 and SCP-542 in order for them to alter and combine the components into a body that could host Subject Zero. However, despite 542 helping with the integration of SCP-784's nanites into a body without any major consequences, 040 was unable to fully use her powers, causing her involvement in the project to be diminished.

During this time, Crow grew closer with Subject Zero, with her keeping him company while he worked. She was excited to receive her body but because of the pace the project was moving, Crow promised to give her the body as a Christmas gift. When Subject Zero was accompanying Crow to the excavation area, she saw a "thing" trying to grab her from between realities. She became scared and hid within Crow's mind, taking possession of him, and forcing him to ride SCP-244-ARC through the site. Once the situation subsided, Crow was left confused from the experience while Zero refused to elaborate on the thing trying to grab her.

With the desired components at their disposal, the subjects' souls were removed via 158 and their bodies were cloned via SCP-222 which were stored in cryo stasis. The six subjects were then placed inside SCP-291 to disassemble their bodies into separate organs and limbs so the preferred parts could be combined into an ideal body. 542 helped attach the body parts together, but following the operation the body suffered a mild organ failure due to shock before adapting. On Christmas, with the body completed, Crow went on to insert Subject Zero into it, and although he faced some difficulty with the integration, due to SCP-148 attempting to repel the composite soul, Subject Zero successfully merged with the body and thus Olympia was finally born. After that, SCP-784 was fused to her body for further enhancement.

Working for the Foundation[]

In the ensuing days, Olympia learned how to talk and move, becoming capable of properly moving and interacting with others at a rapid pace. Under Crow's guidance she began learning about various topics before revealing to her creator that she chose to be called Sophia. Seeing the great success that was the Olympia Project the O5 Council ordered duplicates of her to be created, putting Olympia in SCP-222 to create clones of her, giving rise to the Olympians line, though they would need to manually recreate the minds through AI since Crow refused to allow the duplication of Subject Zero. On early January, Crow decided to take a vacation in Spain, leaving Olympia alone, but thankfully she was able to manage his work during his absence.

Olympia's capabilities were eventually tested, to see how powerful she was and what weaknesses she possessed. It was discovered that although her physiology was superior to that of a normal human, she wasn't outright invincible as she had her own limits and weaknesses.

Olympia began serving as Crow's assistant, helping him in his line of work. On Crow's day off, Olympia accompanied her creator and his fellow researcher Dr. Iceberg to a massive MTF shooting range. There the personnel used their own mechanical devices to target practice by destroying some statues resembling SCPs, with Olympia taking points. Olympia then witnessed Iceberg destroying a reptilian statue which had moved its head moments before its death. She confirmed that the statue had in fact moved, but Crow and Iceberg didn't think much of it and continued target practicing.

Sadly, the Council, after viewing the cost of the project and how little result came out of it, decided to shut it down and scrap everything related to it. Before Olympia was taken away she played catch with her creator. When it came time for her to go she attempted to fight back, but Crow assured her that everything would be alright and so she went with the guards. Olympia was put to stasis and stored for later use, while her line was slatted to be decommissioned.

Possible Endings[]

Parable of the Wayward Prince[]

While unconscious, her soul was taken out of her old body and put in a new one which lacked SCP-148, since the metal could lead to her suffering from a mental breakdown. During the Alexylva University's attack on Site 38, SCP-961-1, an entity that existed outside of the timeline and interfered in various historical assassinations, awoke Olympia from her slumber. 961-1 explained to her how she was needed with the event and promised to repay her for her services.

Taking out numerous D-Class who were being controlled through SCP-877, Olympia met with the site director David Eskobar who had also come into contact with 961-1 and together began following the plan that the entity had told them. As they traversed through the site, the two came across MTF Rho-1 and after a brief fire exchange, Olympia demanded to meet with the MTF's major William Lopez. Upon meeting the man, Olympia explained that the attackers originated from Alexylva University's universe which sought to fullfil the wish of a goddess, and tasked the MTF to blow the entire site up to deny their goal while she herself would confront their enemies.

Making their way to SCP-1080, a building in Tennessee constructed by Alexylva, Olympia and David battled SCP-1893, a story infection which turned anything that mentioned it into a fictional story including a new character who was aware of the person reading the story, possessing statues of itself constructed by SCP-1043. As they battled the statues, the University's goddess Anesidora took notice of them and allowed the two to enter her temple. They arrived to a sacrificial chamber where Anesidora had taken possession of a family that had just sacrificed their son. Speaking through them Anesidora demanded to know what purpose they had here and Olympia responded that the Foundation would eradicate the site, the building and her soldiers, destroying any possibility for the goddess to invade their universe. An enraged Anesidora attempted to kill Olympia by having a mind-controlled agent Jaime MacGilligan come to shoot her, but this event was foretold by 961-1 and as a result David sacrificed himself by taking the bullet. Agent Eastman then suddenly intervened, killing MacGilligan, leaving Anesidora alone. Olympia offered to save Anesidora by taking her and SCP-1893 through a portal to meet with the goddess' maker.

Passing through the portal, Olympia found herself in the University's reality, outside of the Alexylva campus. She quickly broke inside the campus and into the Natural Philosophy complex, the base of the university, where she descended to the basement which housed a powerful reactor. There Milephanes, the university's second in command, attempted to stop her from sabotaging the reactor by striking her, but failed to realize that Olympia pretended to have been knocked out. Milephanes' former mentor, Anaxagoras, soon arrived and the two fought in a ferocious duel. After one of them killed the other, Olympia immediately got up and killed the winner. She then used her weapon to damage the reactor, causing it to explode in any moment. Olympia tried to get away from the blast radius as fast as possible, but it is unknown if she survived the explosion or not. From this devastation, Alexylva University completely fell apart, allowing Anesidora and her minion to take over the alternate world.

"Resurrection"[]

During the formation of MTF Alpha-9, the Council decided to resume the Olympia Project, and allow Crow to reactivate her.

Meanwhile, a unknown party led by a female descendant of General Bowe got hold of the documents and components relating to the Olympia Project. This group then had their employee Vance Moore approach Redwood Labs' CEO Ines Aubert to commission several security androids constructed from these materials, secretly intending to use them to attack other organizations. The Redwood Labs were able to use the materials to manufacture a new generation of Olympians, dubbed Charlemagne units, the most notable units being Gamma, Delta, Epsilon and Zeta.

Persephone Project[]

Unfortunately for Crow, Olympia ultimately went out of control. This necessitated the intervention of Dr. Clef who managed to successfully neutralize her, much to Crow's dismay.

In the future in which all life became immortal after an ΩK-Class "End of Death" Scenario occurred, Crow would form Project Persephone, utilizing SCP-053, SCP-049, SCP-2333, Dr. Shaw's SCP-963 and SCP-2935 to create an entity capable to bring back death to the universe.

Archival Division[]

Under unknown circumstances, Olympia was one of the first to join the Foundation's Archival Division which dealt with the preservation of small anomalies and documents relating to them. She became the head librarian of the Archival Site-00, having her own office in the Computer Labs 1A-319A where she could use her distributed neural computing to answer the questions any new worker asked in the intercoms. She soon arose to fame, even being featured in the Foundation's own magazine Real Tales of the Supernatural.

During her time in the Division, Olympia would oversee the recruitment of several new personnel like mentally ill former child assassin Chess Broad, a suit wearing humanoid infected with an anomalous parasite Barry Redacted, and a headless man Adam Saxon. Later on, Olympia tasked the three of them with investigating SCP-6190, Captain Nemo's spaceship that was left abandoned following an attack delivered by MI666 and was set to crash-land into the Buckingham Palace, England. The trio managed to uncover the events that transpired inside it, but were unable to prevent the ship from coming into Earth.

Appearance[]

Originally as Subject Zero, she didn't have a body as she existed as a incorporeal entity. After getting her own body, Olympia appeared as a pale young woman. Her left eye was a camera comprised of inorganic and organic components, while her other eye was mostly normal; her skin was light gray with seams and her hair was apparently translucent pink. It is possible that she stood 5'3" tall.

Powers and Abilities[]

As Subject Zero, Olympia was a wandering soul comprised of aspects from other souls harvested through SCP-158. Because of being composed of multiple souls, her consciousness existed simultaneously on various planes of reality that transcended human perception. In this form she was incorporeal and invisible, not even being perceived by Foundation's scanners. Olympia could not only see the thoughts of others, but also affect those near her, taking possession of them or making them feel the same emotions as her. Since she existed through different dimensions, Olympia could see the different future outcomes, being capable of predicting events that were about to happen moments in the future. Even if her body were to be destroyed, her soul would still persist.

Most of Olympia's body was constructed from female D-Class whose bodies had been merged with some SCPs and technology. Her lungs, diaphragm, first heart, right eye, torso, arms, upper legs, hands and skin were taken from the D-Class merged with SCP-143; her second heart, reproductive organs, lower legs, feet, neck, head and skeleton were taken from the D-Class merged with SCP-148; her brain was taken from the D-Class whose brain was merged with a Cray CX1 and a supercomputer; digestive system was taken from a mutated D-Class merged with SCP-500; lymphatic and circulatory systems from the D-Class whose body was enhanced with SCP-500; and her left eye was taken from the D-Class mutated into a camera hybrid. In addition to this, her body had also been grafted with the self-replicating nanomachine colony from SCP-784-ARC, allowing her limited shapeshifting, matter absorption and technology interface.

Thanks to her unique mind structure and physiology, Olympia possessed superhuman strength, reflexes mostly from her precognition, advanced metabolism, enhanced vision only through her left eye, photosynthesis that allowed her to absorb solar energy through her skin, invulnerability, marksmanship, regeneration, advanced immune system, and intelligence as she could do multitasking, had advanced memory, solve problems at a rapid pace and was multilingual as she learned seven different languages. She was immune to memetic kill agents, telepathic and subliminal suggestion, and brainwashing, except for SCP-061, a music program that convinces the brain to stop all thought and allows the body to follow commands. Other weaknesses included: her right eye was the least modified part and could lead to her instant death; she was susceptible to Electromagnetic Pulse and if caught in modern nuclear explosives she could be rendered vegetative or outright be killed; no fat which could lead to her starving; and her lungs were also largely unmodified which could cause her to suffer from airborne agents.

Personality[]

And when they plug my cochlear implant
Into a device to record my mind
I'll try not to cry
'Cause this is the first time
Someone's asked me "why?"

Or, "How are you?"
"What've you been up to?"

Oh, hey
By the way
Would you call me Sophia?
~ From "Personal Database".

Olympia's personality was comprised of aspects of various D-Class' souls whose personalities were specifically chosen by Kain Pathos Crow. Although composed of parts of other souls, Olympia didn't seem to retain the memories of the D-Class. As she was created by Crow Olympia formed a close relationship with her creator, seeing him as her father and in turn he saw her as his daughter. Olympia would almost always accompany Crow, assisting him in his work and sharing each other's thoughts. She was excited to receive her own body and desired to have her own name which she got to choose by herself but would reveal it to Crow once she got her body. When she encountered a malevolent extradimensional entity Olympia became terrified of it, causing her to act irrationally by possessing Crow and have him ride SCP-244-ARC to go on a rampage through the site, and following the event she refused to acknowledge what she witnessed. After finally receiving her body, Olympia was somewhat stoic but remained loyal to Crow and by extension to the Foundation, and when copies of herself were created she came to consider them as her siblings. She displayed a passion to learn about various topics as she enjoyed reading books, and kept accompanying her creator, acting as his assistant and spending time together, like helping taking points during Crow's target practice with Iceberg or playing catch together. She deeply trusted Crow, and when the Foundation guard came to take her Crow assured her that she would be fine and Olympia believed him. Once waking back up, Olympia seemed to have possessed a bit of resentment towards Crow and was saddened by her siblings' demise, but despite this she was still determined to help the Foundation in protecting the world.

Trivia[]

  • The original "Olympia Project" series is currently unfinished, since the last tale had simply been a redirect to the experiment involving SCP-784-ARC (which isn't present in the hub) without much new content, causing it to be downvoted to deletion.
  • According to "1st - 12th December 2008", Olympia was named after the character of Olimpia from The Sandman short story, the daughter of a professor who was later revealed to be an automaton. She also beared resemblance to Frankenstein's Monster.
    • The Charlemagnes appear to have taken some inspiration from the android from Nier:Automata like 2B and 9S.
  • Olympia is apparently left-handed as in "Olympia Integration Experiment GAMMA" she was more proficient using items and weapons with the left hand.
  • Given that she and the bodies used to built her were cloned through SCP-222, this creates a discrepancy as the anomaly cannot create man-made constructs like tooth filling or pacemakers, while Olympia and some of her progenitors were partially comprised of technology like the metal skeleton, computerized brain and eye camera. However, this could be explained as their technological modifications aren't just attached to them but have been merged on a molecular level, meaning that they're actually natural parts of their bodies.
  • In "Incident Zero - Part 3", General Bowe had sought to use the Olympians in his commission, but by the time he learned about them the Olympians had already been decommissioned.
  • Had the "Resurrection" canon continued, it would have been eventually revealed that Agent Andrea Adams was either the resurrected form of Adrian Andrews or actually Olympia who had been secretly reactivated and had been made unaware of her true nature, disguising her powers as properties from her technologically advanced suit.
    • Both of these outcomes were hinted in "Girls' Night Out: Dressing Up" and "Number One With A Bullet".
    • The latter outcome would technically still make the former one true as well, since SCP-784-ARC's nanites originated from Andrews and could have allowed him to take possession of the body.
  • In SCP-5000's timeline in which the Foundation declared war on humanity, it is mentioned that Olympia was used by the Foundation to attack the Global Occult Coalition's fortress of Ganzir where she repeatedly killed SCP-076-2 before destroying the entirety of the base.
  • According to the 225th floor of SCP-5016, the Foundation decided to implement SCP-113-FR, a computer circuit containing the consciousness of Dr. Anton Vehan, into the Olympia Project, aiming to put Vehan's mind into one of the Olympian bodies.
  • Raptor Tec. Industries Titan nicknamed "Lois" from the "Project Trickster" series bears resemblance to Olympia.
