Omni-Viewer is a recurring character in Sonic the Comic comic book series. He is an omniscient energy field from the Special Zone and a friend of Sonic the Hedgehog. He assisted the hedgehog and his team of Freedom Fighters many times throughout their adventures, and formed the Chaotix team to protect Special Zone from threats.

Omni-Viewer is a colourless energy field with a human face, contained inside a flat monitor.

At some point, Sonic met Omni-Viewer and became friends with him.
Sonic the Comic[]
When Dr. Robotnik set up his base in the Special Zone, he managed to force the Omni-Viewer to "get rid of" Sonic and the Freedom Fighters when they arrived into the dimension. He didn't specify the way to get rid of them, however, allowing Omni-Viewer to find a loophole by merely sending the heroes six months into the future instead of killing them. Still, this time was enough for Robotnik to fully conquer Mobius. Nevertheless, once he broke free of the doctor's control, the Omni-Viewer was ready to rectify his fault.
To protect the Special Zone from evil, the Omni-Viewer formed the Chaotix, a team consisting of Vector the Crocodile, Espio the Chameleon, Mighty the Armadillo, Charmy the Bee and Nack the Weasel (who eventually betrayed his team to the Brotherhood of Metallix). Eventually, the Brotherhood of Metallix managed to hack into the Omni-Viewer and create a pirate copy of him, which they used to temporarily alter the timeline to make them rulers of Mobius.
When Super Sonic split from the original Sonic, Omni-Viewer imprisoned him inside himself and stopped time for them both, while the Chaotix moved them into the Black Asteroid. He was unable to fully stop time for the chaotic being, and it was only a matter of time before he broke out. When this ultimately happened, Sonic gave Omni-Viewer the idea of teleporting Super Sonic to Mobius, to both save the Special Zone from him and wipe out Robotnik's forces, leading to his empire crumbling. Omni-Viewer isn't seen again after this, though he still assists Freedom Fighters and the Chaotix off-page.
Sonic the Comic Online![]
Omni-Viewer and the Chaotix were among the residents of the Special Zone who escaped its destruction. They resettled on Mobius, protecting it from the impending invasion by the New Robotnik Empire and the Drakons, with Omni-Viewer occasionally being used as a portal into the cyberspace for Espio.
It's currently unknown if Omni was ever made aware of the Special Zone's restoration after the Chaotix learned of it in Issue 279.
Personality[]
Though putting on a threatening persona during his first appearance, Omni-Viewer ultimately proves to be a benevolent, if sometimes grumpy, being, refusing to hurt his friend even hen ordered to do so. He contributes a lot to the protection of his dimension, and is even ready to sacrifice himself to save it.
