Biography[]
Planet of the Ood[]
Ood Sigma served alongside Klineman Halpen for many years, having undergone the routine procedure of replacing his hind brain for a translator. He served Halpen's needs, such as giving him "hair tonic" to help with his balding. When Ood began becoming rabid with Red-Eye, Sigma was taken to see one, but did not show any knowledge When the Red-Eye spread, Sigma seemed unaffected, which Halpen believed was due to loyalty.
When Halpen planned to destroy the Ood Brain to kill them all, Sigma led the Tenth Doctor and Donna to Warehouse 15. During the confrontation with Halpen, Sigma prevented him from shooting them by urging Halpen for another drink. The Doctor worked out that Sigma was in fact linked with the the Brain, and unlike the rabid Ood, Sigma had been granted it's patience. The hair tonic Sigma had been giving him was in reality Ood graft, which transformed Halpen into an Ood himself, who Sigma promised to take care of. After the Doctor deactivated the telepathic barrier, connecting the Ood once more, Sigma offered them a place among them. After the Doctor politely declined, Sigma assured them that they would always be remembered as friends of Ood-kind, and would have a part in the song for as long as the Ood existed, also musing the Doctor's song would come to an end, commenting that all songs must.
Summoning the Doctor[]
The Waters of Mars[]
Ood Sigma appeared to the Doctor in a vision on Earth in 2059. As Adelaide Brooke had just killed herself to undo the Time Lord Victorious's meddling, the guilty Doctor saw him as an omen of his death, and put off travelling to the Ood Sphere.
The End of Time[]
The Doctor did eventually arrive after some time, so which Sigma chastised him for. By this point, a century since their freedom, the Ood had become a more prosperous civilisation, to which the Doctor realised was too fast. Taking him to the Ood Elder, Sigma and the other Ood showed them the visions they had been receiving, namely of the Master, who the Doctor considered long dead. When the Ood held hands, Sigma did not. When the Elder foretold the "end of time", the Doctor left abruptly. After the Doctor managed to defeat the Master and the foretold darkness, the Time Lords, Ood Sigma and the others comforted the Doctor in song, as he began to feel the effects of his oncoming regeneration. Sigma promised the Doctor that they would sing him to his sleep, and assured him that his story never ends.
