Origami Cat is the overarching protagonist of the Five Nights at Candy's fangame series.
It is an origami figure that is actually a spirit, protecting Mary Schmidt from the monsters in her nightmares and occasionally appearing to aid others when they are being attacked by hostile creatures. It is implied to be the spirit of Mrs. Schmidt, the mother of Mary Schmidt.
Biography[]
Five Nights at Candy's 3[]
The Origami Cat is heavily implied to the be the spirit of Mrs. Schmidt, the mother of Mary Schmidt, and begins appearing to Mary in her dreams in order to help her fight back against the Monster Rat and the Monster Cat, which are haunting Mary after she saw two performers in the Rat and Cat costumes die at the hands of the Puppeteer. Origami Cat instructs Mary on the ways she can fight back against the two nightmares and how to use her tape recorder in order to make her nightmares go by faster. It will also instruct her on how to explore the deepscape, telling her to stay on the glowing paths so that they can pull her back to safety if a shadow attempts to hurt her. Origami Cat's efforts are eventually successful, with Mary defeating her fears in the form of Monster Vinnie, where she uses the methods the Origami Cat taught her in order to ward it off, at which point her nightmares finally end.
In the non-canon "Forgotten Ending", if Mary knocks Origami Cat off the desk in her room every night, the Origami Cat will beg her to stop, and eventually be transformed into a monster.
Five Nights at Candy's[]
Origami Cat appears years later in the Candy's Burgers & Fries restaurant on the night guard desk. It is presumably put their by Mary, as she is the night guard working there as an adult. Origami Cat later appears during the Null Night, where the protagonist (possibly Mary Schmidt) faces Shadow Candy. The Origami Cat directly combat Shadow Candy, who sets time back in order to make the night longer, while Origami Cat can replenish the stolen time in order to help the night end quicker.
