Otto Mentallis is a supporting character in the Psychonauts franchise. He is a member of the Psychic Six and an engineering expert in charge of producing and researching all different kinds of technology to help the group achieve it's goals, even starting up a shop to distribute psychic gadgets in exchange for Psitanium from his workshop.
Personality[]
Otto a sympathetic and reliable man who will always help and assist his fellow Psychonauts whenever they need it. While he isn't above bragging a bit about his past exploits and achievements, he is a humble man at heart. He has a great passion for engineering, referring to his inventions as nothing less than dreams made reality through technology.
While each member of the Psychic Six' has experienced trauma at the hands of Maligula, and Otto is no exception, his tendency to prioritize technology over emotions makes him a unique case. One instance is his excitement at the thought of other Psychonauts' brains being preserved in his Hall of Brains if they were all to die, his included. Moments like this can give of the illusion of him being morbid or callous in spite of him being a compassionate man in reality.

- Otto is never shown using his psychic powers onscreen in Psychonauts 2, even when working with the rest of the Psychic Six to power the Astralathe, the psychic energy sent out by him is channeled through his pendant rather than his brain.
- Hollis states that Otto's favorite food are truffles, while Hollis herself believes them to be an unnecessary expense.
- He was the one to cut the ribbon for the Motherlobe's opening ceremony, which is showcased on the picture on the "History of Psychonauts" board.
