Biography[]
Sandoval, an officer with alcohol problems and Benjamín's partner, is assigned with him to investigate the murder and rape case of Liliana Colotto de Morales along with Benjamín. Benjamín's rival, Romano, accuses two Parsleys as the culprits of the murder, which enrages Benjamín who lashes out at Romano for it. Sandoval, along with the other officers, is in charge of holding the fight between the two.
Soon, Benjamín and Pablo go to Chivilcoy to enter the house of Isidoro Gómez, whom they suspect is the murderer. They draw some cards and then leave the place. Reading the letters, Sandoval discovers that Gómez is a fan of the soccer club Racing Club de Avellaneda, and then proceeds to give Benjamín a monologue that the only thing a person cannot change is passion.
After this, the two go to the field of Club Atletico Huracan during the match between Huracan and Racing, to see if Gómez shows up. After Racing scores a goal, the duo finally find Gómez, who chase him around the stadium until they finally catch him.
Both Esposito and Irene manage to prove Gómez's guilt as Liliana's rapist and murderer. However, due to the country's political situation, on the brink of a dictatorship, Gómez reveals information about the guerrillas, which causes Romano to free him and turn him into a hitman, much to the annoyance of Esposito and Irene. Sandoval gets drunk and Benjamín takes him to his house. However, a group of assassins, who were looking for Benjamín, entered the house, to which Sandoval, in an attempt to save his friend, pretends to be Esposito to protect his friend. Sadly, Sandoval is assassinated, leaving both Benjamín and his wife deeply hurt by this. Given this, Esposito decides to leave the city to hide in Jujuy, saying goodbye to Irene.
Twenty five years after Sandoval's death, it is discovered that Gómez has been imprisoned by Ricardo, old and barely able to speak, thus avenging Sandoval. Benjamín then goes to the cemetery to leave a bouquet of flowers at his grave as a sign of respect.
