Pac-Man, also known as Pacster or just Pac, is a fictional alien superhero and the titular main protagonist of the video game series of the same name.
He was voiced by Duncan MacLaren in Pac-Man: Adventures in Time, Martin T. Sherman in Pac-Man World 3, and Debi Derryberry (who also voiced Jimmy Neutron and Runt) in Street Fighter X Tekken. He is also voiced by Marty Ingels in the Pac-Man television series by Hanna-Barbera, and Erin Matthews in Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures animated series, while Erica Mendez voices the character in the latter programs video game adaptation.
Pac-Man likes to eat a lot. The usual meal includes Pac-Dots and fruits including cherries, strawberries, oranges, and apples. He is very good at mazes due to his extensive time in them. Pac-Man cares about his family very much and was devastated when he discovered they had all been kidnapped in Pac-Man World. He is also shown to be friendly, if a bit snarky, to those he encounters; even towards the Ghost Gang when they are not trying to cause mischief.
Powers and abilities
After eating a Power Pellet, Pac-Man will turn invincible and is able to eat ghosts. In the later games and series, eating a Power Pellet transforms him into Super Pac-Man where he dons a cape and goggles. As displayed in this series, Pac-Man has a long tongue that can allow him to eat ghosts at a distance. In the Pac-Man World trilogy, he is able to perform a Butt Bounce (similar to Mario's Ground Pound) and the Rev Roll (similar to Sonic's Spin Dash)
- His name Pac-man comes from "Paku Paku", (パクパク) a Japanese onomatopoeia of eating.
- Pac-man was formerly named "Puck Man".
- According to Shigeru Miyamoto (The Creator of Mario), Pac-man is one of his favorite video game character.
- According Toru Iwatani (The Creator of Pac-Man), he was based off a Pizza without a one slice.
