Paimon is the deuteragonist, non-playable character, and (unofficially) a "mascot" of the 2020 action role-playing fantasy video game Genshin Impact. She guides The Traveler about exploring the Statues of the Seven in different nations of Teyvat. She first appears drowning in Starfell Lake but saved by the traveler who explored the continent of Teyvat. However, she doesn't remember about anything from her past, the Traveler tells Paimon about the unknown god separated by his/her sibling during a battle. Paimon is always a very good guide to find reunite Traveler's sibling.
Paimon is voiced by Aoi Koga in Japanese (who also voiced Shouko Komi in Komi Can't Communicate, Kaguya Shinomiya in Kaguya-sama: Love Is War, Ellee-chan in Hirogaru Sky! Pretty Cure, and Rozaliya Olenyeva in Honkai Impact 3rd) and in English by Corina Boettger (who also voices Tatsumaki in One Punch Man).

Paimon is a fairy like being with a thick white hair with a golden halo, dark purple cosmic eyes, a black-blue cosmic scarf, a white coat have a long big sleeve with the star, and white stockings with white boots.
Personality[]
Paimon is a cute, joyful, and adorable small fairy. She is genuinely guiding travellers about the seven archons in different regions in Teyvat. Furthermore, she is kind when talking to them and curious about joking for any guilt. But when she is bullied by calling "emergency food", she feels furious (which is even worse than being a "mascot" to her) and annoyed. In addition, she is too scared to fight, closing her eyes and avoiding the monsters including her enemies.
On the other hand, she can be blunt and is candid about her dislikes, as heard calling people she dislikes ugly nicknames. SHe can also be quite greedy, becoming easily excited at the mention of treasure or something valueable.

Trivia[]
- She (although unofficially), Kiana Kaslana, March 7th and Anby Demara are mascots and icons of their games.
- Technically, Paimon was not the only character to be the game's mascot by Hoyoverse. Her Inazuman friend - Kamisato Ayaka, in this case, is also considered as a mascot due to her birthday being the same as the date of the game's release as well as being the first character to be coded in the game, as well as her immense popularity by fans' reputation.
- Paimon has number 18 in "Top 20 Most Annoying Video Game Characters Ever" on WatchMojo.
- She and Traveler call Archons by their human name. She even call Venti "Tone deaf bard". Show that she doesn't consider them superior to her. It could be one of foreshadow that she relate to Celestia as part or is one of 4 shade or possibly Primoldial One themselve, which would automatically make her superior to them.
- In fact, she consider herself "God of protection" to traveler.
- She has more respect to Diluc Ragnvindr than Venti, as she calls the former "Master Diluc".
- In the Japanese dub, as a reference to her voice actor Aoi Koga's role as Kaguya Shinomiya, Paimon quotes the latter's catchphrase "お可愛いこと," in the Imitating Ayaka voiceover.
