Panda is a major character of the manga/anime Jujutsu Kaisen 0 and its sequel series Jujutsu Kaisen. Despite his name and appearance, he is not an actual panda, but a mutated cursed corpse created by Masamichi Yaga, the principal of Tokyo Jujutsu High.
He is currently a second-year student at Tokyo Jujutsu High (along with Maki Zenin, Toge Inumaki, and Yuta Okkotsu), as well as a Semi-Grade 2 sorcerer.
He is voiced by Tomokazu Seki in Japanese and Matthew David Rudd and Tara Sands as child in English.
Appearance[]
Panda has the appearance of a full grown giant panda. In the show, he often wears a pair of sportsknuckle bracers that are sometime red or blue in combats and rarely wears clothing. In the movie, he is often seen wearing a yellow jacket, a beanie.
In his Gorilla Mode, his appearance of his body physiques and face will greatly change, his body turns muscular, having brown fingers, big fangs and glowing purple eyes, giving him an appearance of a bear/gorilla/bearilla.
Personality[]
Panda is often cheerful and friendly with people and has a great sense of humor. When he was still a child, he spoke very properly. Panda doesn’t get mad easily, as even when Mechamaru tried to kill him, he still shows a playful personality until Mechamaru destroyed one of his cores and made Panda activate his Gorilla Mode, which did anger him a bit. After winning the fight, he still showed sympathy for Mechamuru and even tells him that he’ll visit him in real in person some day. He views human as strange beings, but respects them.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Enhanced Strength: As a grade two sorcerer and is a mutated corpse, he is able to land very powerful blow, strong enough to exorcise curses one hit, even without using his Gorilla Mode. He landed a blow on Aoi Todo, a very resistant fighter.
- High Durability: Since he is a mutated corpse, his body is powered by three orbs instead of a heart and organs. The orbs are made of cursed energies that acts as his heart and the only way to kill him is by destroying all of these orbs, in aditions he has a very durable body that can be enhanced with jujutsu.
- Gorilla Mode: When switched to Gorilla Mode, as mentioned before his appearance changes, having his body become muscular and facial feature changes to resembling a bear. In this form, his strength, speed and agility are greatly increased with the use of his cursed energies.
