You stupid delinquent! Are you messing with me!? How many times do I have to teach you this before you learn?! You just said six times five was thirty, so why the hell is your answer even less?! YOU S**T-FOR-BRAINS!!
~ An enraged Fugo to Narancia Ghirga.

Pannacotta Fugo is a major character featured in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind and the titular main protagonist of the light novel, Purple Haze Feedback. Fugo wields the flesh-eating virus Stand known as Purple Haze, which eventually evolves into Purple Haze Distortion.

In Japanese, Fugo was voiced by Hisafumi Oda who provided his voices in JoJo Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven and Ultra Jump. In the 2001 video game adaption of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Vento Aureo, He was voiced by Hiroaki Miura. In the anime, Fugo was voiced by Junya Enoki. In the English dub, he was voiced by Ezra Weisz.

Appearance[]

Fugo is a young man of slim to average build with spiky hair. He has large bangs going down the right side of his face, the quantity of which varies throughout his appearances. His appearance is kind of similar to Sale.

Fugo wears a two-piece suit filled with holes on the sleeves and legs. Originally his jacket had a hole on the chest as well, but past Chapter 469 it is portrayed as a one button suit jacket. He also wears a belt to support his pants and a tie with a strawberry pattern. His shoes have the same strawberry pattern on the front of them. In his earliest appearances, he had earrings with wishing lamp symbols on them.

Biography[]

Past[]

As a child, Fugo was raised in a rich family where he had the opportunity to receive a prestigious education at a young age, which was also because of his IQ score of 152. Unfortunately, he also had severe anger issues which he managed to control until he was almost assaulted by his professor, prompting him to finally snap and bash the professor's head in with an encyclopedia.

He was deemed innocent in court though his parents soon disowned him, forcing him to live on the streets until he wound up in Bucciarati's restaurant in which he manages to impress Bucciarati with his knowledge. He was later offered to join the team. Later during his stay, he found Narancia looking for some food and brought him to Bucciarati with the event playing a pivotal part to Narancia's journey to join the mafia. Some time later, Fugo finished the initiation, gained a stand, and joined Bucciarati's team.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind[]

Fugo's first appearance involved in the part was with team Bucciarati where he was teaching Narancia math. He made a few mistakes which was enough to anger Fugo into stabbing him with a fork which resulted in him getting threatened with a dagger in return. Before the situation escalates, Bucciarati introduces the team to Giorno.

After Giorno succeeded his initiation, the team decided to go and find Polpo's treasure due to the owner's death. On their way, Narancia was attacked by an enemy stand and was incapacitated until the stand user, a man named Mario Zucchero was defeated. After witnessing Mista's method of torturing Zucherro, he joins Narancia's dances as Zucherro is tortured.

After the team retrieved the treasure, they were tasked in guarding their boss' daughter, a teenage girl named Trish Una though that is not their only task as they also need to retrieve a key. Some time later, Fugo, Giorno, and Abbacchio are tasked in doing so. They're quickly attacked by an assassin named Illuso and his stand, Man in The Mirror who drags Fugo into a mirror and leaves his stand, Purple Haze outside.

As he is beaten down, Abbacchio finds the key and is soon attacked though he manages to put up a fight before being incapacitated. Luckily, he was still able send his hand away which was carrying the key. Giorno uses this opportunity to bait Illuso into dragging him into a mirror, allowing the former to infect his opponent with Purple Haze's virus, forcing him to exit the mirror, where Purple Haze is. He is swiftly beaten down by Fugo's stand while Giorno earns Fugo's respect.

A few days into the task, Narancia was attacked and their location was compromised, forcing the team to board a locomotive. While in the train, the team were soon under the effects of an enemy stand. Luckily, Mista and Bucciarati were able to take them out, allowing the team to escape. After Bucciarati's fight against Diavolo, Fugo was given a choice to join the former in a quest to kill the latter.

Unlike his team, Fugo adamantly refused to join as he worries about the danger the boss may pose against them. As his teams sails away, he is left with Narancia who after some consideration, decides to swim after the team, leaving Fugo all alone...

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Purple Haze Feedback[]

Some time after Giorno's takeover of Passione, Mista meets up with Fugo, relaying orders from the new boss to take down the narcotics team with Sheila E being assigned to help out on this task. In a hotel, the two meet up with Cannolo Murolo who gives them information on the narcotics team's location and their main target, Massimo Volpe.

In an enemy stand attack, Fugo was forced to face Vladimir Kocaqi all alone. His stand was able to temporarily incapacitate Fugo until he figures out how to break free and hit Kocaqi with Purple Haze. The two later join Murolo on a plane which was brought down by Angelica Attanasio's stand. Fugo was able to wake Sheila up, the two escaping and leaving Murolo behind.

As it turns out, Angelica's stand had the ability to induce effects similar to addiction with most of the local populace being under her influence. In their escape, Fugo was forced to split up and go on his own. After surviving an attack from the maddened populace, he was able to find Angelica and after a brief struggle, he managed to wound her.

Just before the last fight, Fugo reminisces his past with his old team, remembering important moments with each of them as well as his regrets. From this, he gains the resolve to strengthen his stand which is useful as at this point, Volpe has arrived and had witnessed Angelica's death. In a close battle which would normally be dangerous due to Purple Haze's virus, Fugo manages to spread said virus to the two of them, killing off Volpe.

His stand's new ability allows him to create a different virus to counteract the one affecting him and he manages to survive his own attack. With the mission finished, Fugo and Sheila are soon hospitalized and survive this encounter. Some time later, Fugo having done recovering, was invited by Giorno to explain the true purpose of this mission, to give him character growth.

In the end, Fugo is accepted back into Passione.

Personality[]

Fugo has a very caring personality, as shown in his past when he brings a young homeless Narancia, who was suffering from hunger and from an eye disease, into a restaurant and asks Bucciarati to give him food. At times, he seems placid, often responding to disrespect and being talked down upon by his peers with nonchalance.

However, once upset Fugo can also be hotheaded and aggressive, dropping out of school due to his violent disposition ruining relationships with others, specifically his teachers. His Stand, when shown to be belligerent, was said to reflect this aspect of his personality. Almost as much as he is angry, Fugo is also very intelligent and careful. Though he did indeed drop out of school in the end, it still stands that his academic ability allowed him to enter university level at the age of only 16.

When presented with the choice to stay with Bucciarati's group and betray the Boss or leave and seek safety, Fugo deserted the group, having resigned to the logical reasoning of the group inevitably having to answer to the entirety of Passione as a result.

Powers[]

Fugo's Stand, Purple Haze releases a deadly flesh eating virus via capsules on his hand because of its deadly ability and its potential for indiscriminate destruction, Purple Haze is rarely used by Fugo as stated by Abbacchio. However, it is undeniably a powerful close-range Stand.

  • In addition to being one of the more calculated members on the team, Fugo possesses the particularly deadly Stand, Purple Haze.
  • Originally, Fugo was going to be a villain by working for Diavolo as a spy and he was going to betray Bucciarati's group, but it was scrapped because Araki had depression at the time.
