Pansy (パンジ, Panji?), known as Penny in the Harmony Gold English dub, is a major character in the fist movie of the Dragon Ball franchise: Dragon Ball: Curse of the Blood Rubies.
She was voiced in Japanese by Tomiko Suzuki, in English by Rebecca Forstadt in the Harmony Gold dub, Andrea Libman in the BLT dubs, Sharon Mann in the AB Groupe dub and Cherami Leigh in the Funimation dub.
Biography[]
Pansy is a little girl who lives in the Land of Gurumes (Gourmeth Kingdom in the Japanese version) a location ruled by the tyrannical King Gurumes, who exploits his people to find a way to undo his curse. After a conflict between Pansy's parents and Gurumes' soldiers, Pansy went out of the land to find the legendary martial artist Master Roshi who could defeat Gurume's henchmen and end with his reign of terror. In the way she meets Goku and Bulma, who were also confronting the Gurumes Army to get the Dragon Balls, at this moment Oolong appeared ad tried to kidnap Pansy but she was saved by Goku, later she joins the Z-Fighters to go to Kame House, where Master Roshi lives. There Roshi told Pansy that he is retired and cannot help her but they are young warriors like Goku who could defeat Gurumes. Pansy follow this and along the group goes to Gurumes castle. After a battle where Yamcha and Puar joins them, the Z-Fighters summoned Shenron in the last moment, while Bulma and Yamcha were discusing about their personal wishes, Pansy asks about restore her land and Shenron does it, also reverting Gurumes' curse. Then Pansy offers an apple to King Gurumes, who is now an human and is not evil anymore.
