Paris is the secondary antagonist of the 2023 spy action film Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning and one of the two tritagonists (alongside Theo Degas) in its 2025 sequel Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning.
She is an assassin working for Gabriel and The Entity who is sent in pursuit of the Impossible Mission Force in order to obtain both halves of the key to the Entity's secrets until Gabriel's betrayal that resulted with Paris joining Ethan Hunt and the IMF.
In Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning and Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning, Paris is portrayed by Pom Klementieff, who also played Mantis in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
History[]
Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning[]
Paris first accompanied Gabriel when he was sent to the airport, where a buyer for one of the key halves was present. She covertly killed the buyer, but he did not have the key half on him. In fact, the key half was with Grace, who had been hired by an unknown employer to take it from Ethan Hunt before he or anyone else could deliver it to the buyer.
After Grace boarded a plane to Rome and Ethan followed her there, Gabriel and Paris made their way there as well. Paris led a team of goons to the site of a stand-off between, Ethan and Grace, US agents Jason Briggs and Theo Degas, and the Italian police. After she and her goons exited their armored vehicle, Paris opened fire on the police, leading to a shoot-out that gave Ethan and Grace time to drive away in a stolen police car. Undeterred, Paris got back into the armored vehicle and drove after them, plowing through cars and other obstacles that were in her way. However, Ethan and Grace were able to evade her by switching to a smaller car and driving through a narrow pass that her armored vehicle could not fit through.
Paris then accompanied Gabriel as he attended a party organized by the White Widow (who revealed herself to be Grace's employer) and the Entity to discuss the sale of the two halves of the key. She stayed hidden in the crowd at first, but showed herself to Ethan and Ilsa Faust as soon as they arrived. When Ethan attacked the White Widow's goons to buy Ilsa and Grace time to escape, Paris took part in the skirmish to try and hold back Ethan while Gabriel pursued Grace. Although Ethan was able to escape the party and chase after Gabriel, the Entity hacked his communications and led him into a narrow alleyway where Paris and another goon had prepared an ambush for him. Despite being outnumbered, Ethan was able to fight them both off, but chose to spare Paris's life.
Paris then boarded the Orient Express, the location where the transaction of the completed key was to take place, and went to retrieve Gabriel, who had also infiltrated the train by hiding in a large suitcase with an oxygen mask on. After Paris opened the suitcase, she went with Gabriel to sabotage the train's emergency break as part of the Entity's carefully calculated plan. Along the way, the two met with Denlinger, who revealed himself to be the one who caused the Entity to go rogue and transform into its current state. Denlinger proposed an alliance between himself and Gabriel, but Gabriel refused and killed him instead, before turning around and stabbing Paris, deducing she would betray him as well, before leaving her for dead.
However, Paris was able to muster up the strength to get up and later saved Ethan and Grace from falling after Gabriel blew up the train bridge. Paris then revealed to Ethan that the chamber the key unlocked was on board the crashed Sevastapol submarine before becoming delirious due to blood loss. However, when Jasper Briggs and Degas came across her body, Degas checked her and discovered she still had a pulse.
Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning[]
Two months later, Paris has recovered from her injuries. She was held in a prison in Austria. When Briggs and Degas were taking her to the CIA, Ethan and Benji Dunn (disguised as two prison guards) attacks Briggs and the two guards and recruits Paris and Degas to help them defeat Gabriel and the Entity. After Ethan and Grace's encounter with Gabriel at London, they along with Benji, Paris, and Degas find the chamber that Gabriel uses to speak to the Entity. Despite Paris' warnings that it will change him, Ethan goes inside the chamber to talk to the Entity who reveals its plan to spread itself around the world and predicts that Gabriel will kill his best friend Luther Stickell. Ethan runs to save Luther, but is too late as Gabriel trapped Luther in a cave with a nuclear bomb forcing Luther to sacrifice himself to migitate the explosion.
Following Luther's death, the team learns that Gabriel stole Luther's "Poison Pill" that would be used to activate the Entity with the Padvoka from Sevastopol. Ethan goes to retrieve the Padkova from the submarine with the key while Paris, Benji, Grace, and Degas travel to St. Matthew Island in the Bering Sea. They meet former CIA analyst William Donloe and his wife Tapessa. They are suddenly attacked by Russian special forces but manage to escape. They later meet up with Ethan who has the Padkova and heads to South Africa.
At the bunker, the team is ambushed by Gabriel's men who planted another nuclear bomb similar to the one that killed Luther. Shortly, Eugene Kittridge and the CIA have also arrived before a fight breaks out. While Ethan chases after Gabriel, Paris, Grace, and Benji heads to the control room to stop the Entity and Degas, Donloe and Tapessa stay behind to disarm the bomb. Since Benji was shot during the ambush, Paris has to operate on his wound using her skills as an assassin leaving Grace to hack the controls herself. Paris manages to heal Benji. After Ethan plugs in the Padkova and the Poison Pill, Grace stops the Entity by containing it in a vial ending its threat on the world. They are then reunited with Degas, Donloe and Tapessa who were able to escape the explosion thanks to a 10-second headstart.
Paris, Benji, Grace, and Degas eventually reunite with Ethan in London and Grace gives Ethan the briefcase containing the Entity before the team went separate ways.
Personality[]
Paris is characterized by her intense physicality and a penchant for chaos. She thrives in combat situations, displaying a fierce and unrelenting fighting style. Her near-silent demeanor adds to her mystique, allowing her actions to speak volumes. Klementieff drew inspiration from silent film icons like Buster Keaton and Clint Eastwood, emphasizing expressive physical performance over dialogue. This approach enhances Paris's presence, making her both intimidating and intriguing.
