Paruparu is one of the main protagonists of the anime movie Doraemon: Nobita and the Kingdom of Clouds. She is a pilot who is tasked to protect the endangered animals on the Kingdom of Clouds, and has helped the main characters during their time there.
She was voiced by Miki Itō.
Appearance[]
Paruparu is a young girl with fair skin and red hair. She wears the Kingdom of Clouds pilots' uniform.
Personality[]
Like the rest of the sky people, Paruparu cares greatly for the well being of endangered animals and people, saving them from extinction due to humans' pollution on Earth. Unlike her people however, she sees the good in the main group and is convinced that they are trustworthy, something her brother Gurio disagrees. Despite this, she still goes along with the Noah's plan to wipe out people on Earth, since she too is convinced that they have polluted it too much.
Throughout the main characters' stay on the Kingdom of Clouds, Paruparu is the one who consistently shows support for them, despite the other sky people, Gurio included, distrusting them. Eventually, she manages to convince the court to abandon the Noah's plan with the help of the friends that Nobita and Doraemon helped, and promises to return to Earth once its environment has improved.
History[]
When the main characters are looking for their cloud kingdom, they arrive at the Kingdom of Clouds, where they meet Paruparu, who explains it to them. She then offers them shelter, but they escape after mistaking the sky people of locking them up, only to be separated by a thunderstorm that internally damages Doraemon. Shizuka, Suneo and Gian are held by the sky people and explore the kingdom with Paruparu. Unfortunately, it is revealed that the sky people are planning to carry out the Noah's plan to wipe out people on Earth with a flood.
To prevent the plan, Doraemon reveals a cannon that can destroy any cloud, but he only wants to use it as a bluff. However, a group of illegal hunters crash land on Nobita's cloud and take him and Doraemon captive. Shizuka, Suneo, Gian and Paruparu try to help them, but fail and are taken captive as well. Doraemon then destroys the city cloud gas using his head, injuring himself in the process. During the final trial, Paruparu addresses the court about the his sacrifice to convince them to give up the Noah's plan. Thanks to several friends that Nobita and Doraemon helped, including Kibo, who is now the ambassador and revives Doraemon, the court decides to cancel the plan indefinitely.
Paruparu then bids a farewell to the main group before departing to another planet with her people, promising to return once Earth's environment has improved.
