Paul "Wrecking" Crewe is a former star pro football quarterback and the main protagonist of the 1974 film The Longest Yard and its 2005 remake. He gets arrested and was sentenced to 3 years in prison after being accused of shaving points at a football game.
In the 1974 film he was portrayed by Burt Reynolds, who also portrayed Bandit Darville in Smokey and the Bandit, Nick McKenna in Cop and a Half, Charlie Barkin in All Dogs Go to Heaven.

Paul was a drunk man who began driving while drinking. After he locks his wife in her closet before she calls the cops on him. Paul gets into a high speed chase with the cops. He pulls over on purpose so the cops can crash into it despite his wife not wanting it damaged. Paul gets arrested and was taken to a prison in Allendale, Texas.
