Pegasusmon is the alternate form of Patamon after he lost his power to digivolve to Angemon.

Like his original counterpart, he is voiced by Miwa Matsumoto in the Japanese version.

History

Patamon first digivolved to Pegasusmon when Taichi and Sora were attacked by several Fangmon and Cerberumon after becoming incapable of digivolving to Angemon, and embracing newfound hope alongside Takeru. He defeats the Fangmon and Cerberumon along with MetalGreymon and Garudamon. Patamon subsequently uses Pegasusmon as an alternate Champion form.

While battling an Opossummon and WaruMonzeamon who are kidnapping young Digimon and draining their hope, Patamon digivolves into Pegasusmon in an attempt to rescue the young Digimon only to be captured inside of WaruMonzeamon, causing him to dedigivolve back into Patamon. Takeru and Patamon's refusal to give up hope allows them to break free with the young Digimon sending their hope into Patamon. Patamon digivolves again, at first appearing to become Pegasusmon before rising as Angemon instead from Pegasusmon's form, the hope of the young Digimon having finally restored Patamon's ability to digivolve into his Champion form. As Angemon, he is able to rescue the captive Digimon and destroy both WaruMonzeamon and Opossummon.

Despite regaining his power to digivolve into Angemon, Patamon digivolves into Pegasusmon again during the battle against Entmon.

When the Great Tree of Knowledge comes under attack by the Soundbirdmon, Patamon digivolves into Pegasusmon for a final time to carry Takeru, Hikari and Tailmon to the Tree faster than Komondomon can carry them. Pegasusmon rescues Wisemon, Garbagemon and Searchmon from several Soundbirdmon-controlled Mekanorimon before later digivolving into MagnaAngemon to help defend the Tree against Ghoulmon.
