Perseus "Percy" Jackson (Born August 18, 1993) is the overall main protagonist of the Camp Half-Blood Chronicles.
He serves as the titular protagonist of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians book series by Rick Riordan and the film adaptations, one of the main characters in it's sequel book series The Heroes of Olympus, a supporting character in the second sequel series The Trials of Apollo and a guest character in Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard.
He is the demigod son of Sally Jackson and the sea god Poseidon, the half-brother of Tyson, the former stepson of Gabe Ugliano, and the stepson of Paul Blofis, and has been diagnosed with dyslexia and ADHD. Percy has been an outcast all his life, but when his satyr friend Grover takes him to Camp Half-Blood, a safe haven for demigods, a whole new world opens for him. He won't let any bully, monster, bad guy, Titan, or obstacle stand in his way, and the series consists of Percy learning what it truly means to be a hero and going through a handful to save Mount Olympus.
In the musical, he was portrayed by Chris McCarrell on Broadway, off-Broadway and national tour. He is portrayed by Walker Scobell in the Disney+ series.
Overview[]
Percy began the story as a mischievous twelve year old going from one boarding school to another. Although he was a demigod, he didn't know anything about the world or that his father was alive and a god until his math teacher Mrs. Dodds turned into a Fury and tried to attack him, but failed when Percy vaporised her with Riptide.
After going to Camp Half-Blood and being revealed as Poseidon's son, (it is against the rules for the big three gods Zeus, Poseidon and Hades to have kids) he went off on his adventure with his satyr friend Grover Underwood and Annabeth Chase (a daughter of Athena). After the quest he was betrayed by his friend and Hermes' son Luke Castellan who revealed that he was in league with the leader of the Titans Kronos.
Since then he has gone through many adventures and met many friends. Eventually he fought for Mount. Olympus against Kronos in The Last Olympian, and started dating Annabeth. In The Heroes of Olympus set four months after the Titan War, he's taken away from Camp Half-Blood by Hera and loses his memory. He becomes the leader of Camp Jupiter (a camp for Roman demigods) but soon in The Mark of Athena he meets with his old friends, and he, along with Jason Grace (a son of Jupiter), Piper McLean (a daughter of Aphrodite), Leo Valdez (a son of Hephaestus), Frank Zhang (a son of Mars), Hazel Levesque (a daughter of Pluto) and Nico di Angelo (a son of Hades), travels in the Argo II for the rest of the journey to stop Gaia rising.
At the end of the book, Percy and Annabeth fall into Tartarus, and resume in The House of Hades. The two forced their way through, and closed the Doors of Death. But their battle against Gaia's giants finished in The Blood of Olympus with Percy and Annabeth deciding to finish their senior year of high school together before attending New Rome University.
In the third Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard book "The Ship of the Dead", Percy helps train Annabeth's cousin Magnus (who like Percy and Annabeth, is also a demigod but is Norse instead of Greek) train for his quest to stop Loki from triggering Ragnarök. It is also revealed in this book that Percy has become a brother to Sally and Paul's daughter Estelle (who is named after Percy's maternal grandmother).

General Abilities[]
Percy as the demigod son of Poseidon is an immensely powerful individual as stated by multiple people throughout his adventures and is one of the most powerful demigods in the world. The only other demigods whose powers rival his are Jason Grace, Thalia Grace, Nico Di Angelo and Hazel Levesque. He has fought and defeated many monsters probably more than any other demigod as well as other demigods, gods, titans, and giants. He on more than one occasion has contributed to the salvation of Olympus and the world as a whole. Percy has these abilities and traits:
- ADHD: Percy's supernatural alertness and keen senses that keep him ready for, and alive, in battle. It also lets him analyze his opponents fighting style as well as pick up minor details about an opponent, such as where their muscles tense so he can tell which direction they'll attack from. This is one general trait of demigods.
- Dyslexia: Percy's brain is "hard-wired" for reading divine Ancient Greek instead of mortal languages. During his time at Camp Jupiter, he learned to understand, and possibly speak, Latin to an unknown degree. This is also a trait common to most demigods.
- Dreams: Like most demigods, Percy had dreams that showed him events occurring in the past, present, and future. However, due to the unpredictable nature of his father, and the raw power the sea god possesses, Percy's dreams are a lot more potent than those of other demigods. He has managed to even view the dealings of fellow demigods, such as Luke, and even ancient ones such as Hercules; gods, such as Hades; and even conversations of Kronos himself, something Luke proclaimed was impossible. It is also possible that like many Ocean deities, he possesses some innate prophetic abilities manifesting as dreams.
- Enhanced Physical Condition: As a demigod Percy is faster, stronger than a normal mortal, as well as being more agile and durable. These physical attributes have allowed him to perform feats normal human can't, as well as survive situations mortals cannot. As he is a son of one of the Big Three, he is thus physically more powerful than most other demigods.
- Enhanced Strength: Being a demigod son of Poseidon, Percy is shown to be considerably stronger than a regular mortal and being a son of one of the Big Three, his strength surpasses most other Demigods, able to knock out demigods with one hit, rip out the Minotaur's horn, able to deflect giants attacks, topple a seemingly insurmountably strong Polyphemus, strangle a snake when he was a toddler, and forced the tip of Porphyrion's spear into the ground while the giant was running, causing the giant's own momentum to flip himself over and that was when he was still injured. He had even held on a ledge, while supporting Annabeth's and his own weight with just his fingers, without much discomfort.
- Enhanced Durability: Being a demigod, Percy is shown to be more durable than regular humans as he was thrown to solid rock by a giant and only managed a nosebleed and later still defeat multiple giants, shook off a hard kick in the chest from the Olympian god Ares, speedily recovered from a dodgeball thrown by a Laistrygonian Giant, brushed off from a whack in the chest by a giant, shook off hard hits from the Titan, Atlas, withstood a hard blow from Kronos without the Curse of Achilles and many other feats.
- Enhanced Agility: Being a demigod, Percy is shown to be more agile than a regular mortal as he was able to leap on the huge Minotaur neck, dodge several slashes from Ares, the climb up to Antaeus head in a matter of seconds, vaulted over Polybotes's knee, somersault over a line of Roman shields, and able to keep his footing on a huge slippery, shaking crocodile, all with impossible agility, with Carter comparing his agility to gymnastics. His greatest feat of agility had to be in the Hidden Oracle when he leapt from a giant statue head to its shoulder and slip down the ship's rudder like a fire pole with impossible agility. Even the god, Apollo had to admit he was moderately impressive. He even jumped over a 20-foot wide river, despite having Annabeth on his back in Tartarus. Later, Annabeth says she has no idea how he did it.
- Enhanced Reflexes: Being a demigod, Percy reflexes are faster than a regular human. Percy was able to deflect a bullet that can travel 1,700 miles per hour, even when he barely even seen the bullet in the Titans Curse. His reflexes also allow him to cut a volley of arrows in half.
- Wit: Percy is quite intelligent in his own right, skillfully capitalizing on his surroundings and his opponent's weaknesses and egos when he cannot overwhelm them directly. This has been shown numerous times, such as when he tricked Ares into walking into a pressurized tide, when he choked the Nemean Lion with space food so that Zoe and Bianca could shoot the inside of its mouth, when he tricked Antaeus into jumping into the chain (depriving him of his mother's rejuvenating touch), and when he outsmarted Chrysaor, by utilizing his crew's fear of Dionysus to his advantage in The Mark of Athena. While searching for the entrance to the Underworld, they encounter Procrustes. He traps Annabeth and Grover using his signature technique — causing them to lie down on a bed while being stretched by ropes until they are exactly the same height of the bed — until Percy tricks him into lying down on one such bed. Procrustes is killed, and the trio proceeded to DOA Recording Studios. Following advice from Apollo, Percy Jackson found Nereus on the docks of San Francisco, California, after dressing up in old clothes found by Zoë Nightshade. As Nereus is tired of being sought by demigods for answers to their questions and just wants to be left alone, Percy has to catch him long enough to ask one question. However, Percy tricked Nereus into jumping into the water with him holding on, making Percy stronger and overpowering him. During the fight, Nereus shape-shifted into different types of animals, including a seal, a killer whale, and an eel to shake off Percy's grasp. However, his tossing and shape-shifting didn't work well leaving Nereus confused as to why Percy didn't drown at all, and Percy revealed that he was a son of Poseidon, much to Nereus' dismay. He eventually conceded the struggle and agreed to answer the heroes' question. Percy asked him for the location of the monster that Artemis, goddess of the moon and the hunt, had been tracking. Nereus said that the question was too easy and simply pointed to the Ophiotaurus, the creature that had been following Percy and his friends during the events of their quest. In Percy's confusion, Nereus changes into a goldfish and escapes into the sea. Omniscience (possibly): Given how Nereus knew things that were unknown to even the Oracle of Delphi, as well as his ability to give accurate answers to any questions that his captors could pose, it is possible that he knew everything and anything indefinitely. In The Crown of Ptolemy Percy finally understands that Setne acts by looking into his enemies' minds, finding something he can relate to and use it against. Setne tried and failed to get a handle on Percy's motives for turning down immortality in the past and thus couldn't find anything to relate to get past Percy's defenses. In The Sea of Monsters, he uses the pool to send an Iris message to Dionysus at Camp Half-Blood, tricking Luke into revealing the fact that Chiron was framed for the poisoning, resulting in Chiron being rehired. In The Singer of Apollo, Percy lies, claiming they're not worthy of his music and might explode. Apollo buys the excuse and leaves with the celedones for his concert in a flash of light. Apollo being the god of truth in all. He was the first to recognize the weirdness of the lotus casino in The Lightning Thief and forced Gaia to choose between him and Phineas the seer in The Son of Neptune.
- Leadership: Percy is a natural leader as he led Camp Half-Blood to victory numerous times. Carter Kane had even noticed his leadership.
- Indomitable Willpower: Percy is shown to have great willpower as he held up the weight of the sky for a period of time and endured the sufferings of Tartarus.
- Master Combatant/Weapon Mastery: Percy is a naturally talented and excellent swordsman and his skills continue to grow as time passes, capable of holding his own against and even defeating larger, more experienced, and more powerful opponents, including gods like Ares and Hades and Titans like Hyperion and Kronos (though the latter three were accomplished only after Percy had bathed in Styx even though it should be noticed that Percy also beat Kronos once without the Curse of Achilles and it must be noted Ares had underestimated Percy) as well as monsters. In The Sea of Monsters, even when Percy had only trained for a year at the time, was already regarded by other campers to be better than any other camper in Camp Half-Blood at swordplay in the last hundred years, with many even comparing him to Luke in swordsmanship. At this point, Percy sparred against entire cabins at a time, and rather easily beat the guys from the Apollo Cabin. Despite being out of practice when he fought Luke, Percy was briefly able to fight him off, but was overpowered rather easily. Percy was skilled enough to repeatedly injure the giant cyclops, Polyphemus until he was laying on his back, and defeated Ethan Nakamura in swordplay. In The Son of Neptune, even after losing the Curse of Achilles, he is still shown to be able to fend off an entire legion of continually resurrecting ghosts by himself while still protecting Frank and the golden eagle of the legion. His Greek training and unpredictable, solo fighting style make him particularly dangerous to the demigods of Camp Jupiter, who are used to fighting as a group, allowing him to easily defeat multiple opponents at once as shown in The Son of Neptune. Percy had enough skill to easily defeat an Amazon. According to Frank, Percy "fought like a demon." When possessed by eidolons, Percy fought Jason Grace on even footing (Piper couldn't believe the speed of their sword fighting which she described as a 'blur', as they exchanged multiple of blows that lasted only a second) and injured him to a point that he was knocked unconscious. However, it should be noted that Jason was distracted by Piper's charmspeak at that particular moment, which allowed the possessed Percy to exploit the opening in Jason's defence. Carter Kane himself admitted that Percy was a way better swordsman than he was. Percy had even said that there is not a lot of people who could fight him that well, indicating Percy himself, is a better swordsman than most. Percy has also shown many of times that he could talk while fighting, with little effort.
- Curse of Achilles (formerly): After bathing in the River Styx, Percy was given supernaturally superior speed and strength as well as invulnerability except for his vital spot opposite of the navel. With the Curse of Achilles, Percy's own combat skills are enhanced to the point where he can single-handedly tear through entire armies as well as gods like Hades and Titans like Hyperion (albeit he had some help in defeating Hyperion). He was even able to hold his own against Kronos for a rather long period of time though the titan was only on a fraction of his full power. He later loses it by touching the Tiber river as it was a Greek blessing and he could not enter Roman territory with the curse.
- Empathy Link: Percy has a psychic connection with Grover called an empathy link. In The Son of Neptune, Don the faun said that Percy had an empathy link with another faun who is Grover.
- Wolf Stare: During his training with Lupa Percy mastered the "Wolf Stare" that says "No matter how bad you think you are, I'm worse," which is so intimidating it allows him to scare off gangsters.
- Eye of Horus Symbol: Percy has an image of the Eye of Horus drawn on his palm, which can allow him to summon Carter Kane wherever he is just by speaking his name, though Percy can use it only once. Percy used this to get Carter and Sadie to Governors Island to help him and Annabeth face off against Setne.
Demigod Abilities[]
As a son of Poseidon; one of the Big Three, Percy is an extremely powerful demigod. He has divine authority over his father's domains and subjects. Percy is considered to be the most powerful demigod in Camp Half-Blood. Hazel had considered Nico di Angelo the most powerful demigod she knew, until she met Percy, and believed that Percy's power rivalled Nico's and Jason's abilities. Nico later states that even compared to the rest of the Seven Heroes of Olympus, Percy is the most powerful demigod he has ever met. Both through his father's authority and his own inherent power, Percy's abilities include:
- Water-Induced Abilities: When in contact with or in the presence of water, Percy gains a disproportionate amount of superhuman clarity, strength, speed, agility, and endurance equaling a god. While in this state, he was strong enough to snap Clarisse's electric spear "like a twig," and managed to contend with the war god Ares. Percy was able to successively disarm Luke, the most skilled swordsman at Camp Half-Blood for the last three hundred years in the Camp Half-Blood swordsmanship class with a complex manoeuvre after he'd doused himself in water. In addition, after Percy was pushed into the creek during Capture the Flag, he effortlessly defeated four children of Ares in rapid succession, including Clarisse, with ease. In The Sea of Monsters, Percy managed to shear off a portion of Luke's shield once enhanced by water, demonstrating godlike strength. However, this only lasts for a limited amount of time unless he is completely submerged in water. He also heals himself from any wound and most poisons when he comes into contact with water, the amount of water and time needed for the healing being proportionate to the severity of the wound.
- Hydrokinesis: With the power of the sea within him, Percy can control every form and great volumes of water, being even able to summon and heal his wounds and cure himself of most poisons with it. Percy can control water to a very high degree, letting him control 10,000 gallons of water. He can control it in order to make it explode, or use it to grab something. Percy can summon waves that can easily sink ships. His hydrokinesis abilities include:
- General Hyrdokinesis: He can create water from petrified seashells, as well as being able to create water with his own energy and summoning the "force of the ocean" to his will, as long as he concentrates hard enough. He can also harden water into an almost solid shape.
- Hydrogenesis: Percy can create water from his own power, though it takes much of his energy for him to do so. Percy did this while at Mount Saint Helens, creating water out of nothing to cause a volcanic eruption, which was powerful enough to cause half a million people to evacuate and caused ash to fall as far as Lake Tahoe and Vancouver. He also uses this skill while creating his own personal hurricanes. While travelling on the Argo II, he presumably used this ability while combining his powers with Jason Grace's to create powerful storms.
- Vitakinesis (Limited): Since he is the son of Poseidon, he can heal most wounds and cure most poisons when in contact with water.
- Water Propulsion: He can control the water around him to propel himself through the water. Percy can shoot water, not only from being in the water, but he can blast the own water he creates.
- Underwater Breathing: Percy can breathe underwater and diffuse the oxygen in the water to create oxygen bubbles that allow his non-hydrokinetic friends to breathe underwater.
- Water Immunity: Percy can fall from great heights into water, and is unaffected by any amount of water pressure. He does not get wet if submerged in water unless he wants to. Percy can dry items underwater (as long as he holds onto it), such as a lighter.
- Water Solidification: Percy can harden water into an almost solid shape. He can use this power to walk on water, by increasing the surface tension of the water to the point where it is solid enough for him to stand on, and water constructs. So far, he has demonstrated creating a strong water shield, and on two instances, he hardened the water into giant hands that followed and imitated the movements of his own hands.
- Watercraft Manipulation: Percy possesses an intimate awareness of any ship he is on (sailing ships, canoes, motorboats, possibly submarines); being able to telekinetically operate one (as well as anything related to the ocean).
- Perfect Bearings: Percy has perfect bearings on the ocean, so he can easily navigate his way at sea.
- Communication: Percy has divine authority over and can talk (normally and telepathically) to equines and sea creatures who mainly treat him with deference and lordly respect. He can also speak to other children of Poseidon underwater.
- Atmokinesis (Limited): Percy can summon hurricanes and other types of storms, but the extent to which he can control them is as of yet unknown. Percy's hurricanes have been shown to be powerful enough to douse the fires on Hyperion's body, leaving the powerful Titan vulnerable to attack. He is able to sustain the storm with less effort than his first use of the skill against the Titan Hyperion, although it still drains him over time. He was also able to use it to knock a giant crocodile off its footing.
- Electrokinesis (Limited): Percy used this skill unintentionally on one occasion while creating his own miniature hurricane to fight Hyperion. Sparks of lightning appeared as his hurricane increased in power. His control of this ability, however, is far less than that of a child of Zeus and appears to be a limited side effect of his storms.
- Aerokinesis (Limited): Percy can summon strong winds, which he could use to create storms such as hurricanes and typhoons.
- Geokinesis: Percy can generate earthquakes and (consequently) cause volcanic eruptions, but his control of this technique is less than that of a child of Hades.
- Cryokinesis (Limited): Percy can use cryokinesis to a small degree. He is able to use the ice and snow around him to make an icy hurricane, as he does during the battle in Alaska. He can also manipulate frozen or icy water around him, demonstrated during his interrupted fight with Thalia.
- Toxikinesis (Limited): Percy can control and manipulate poisons, as seen when he beats Akhlys in Tartarus, as well as deflecting Polybotes' poison that was thrown at him. This is limited, though, as poison is only part water. The full extent of this power is unknown although he is able to control it well enough, when angry, to the point of terrifying Annabeth who even asks him to stop. Percy tried to divert the poison Polybotes attacked him with but did not due to his fear of this power.
- Heat Resistance: As a son of Poseidon, Percy has a far higher than normal resistance to heat and burns, similar to that of a Cyclops, due to his father's oceanic nature. He manages not to drop his sword when Alecto wrapped her fiery whip around his wrist. He was able to survive being engulfed by lava thrown by the telekhines, though it began to get more painful the longer he was in contact with it, as well not being killed by the super-heated steam from the eruption of Mount Saint Helens.
- Mist Control (Limited): Percy can control the Mist, as shown when he made a police officer look at an imaginary line of limos to distract him. Though Percy can indeed control the Mist, he is not an expert at it and his power over the Mist is inferior compared to those of Hazel Levesque and children of Hecate. He may have a capacity for magic, with him using an evil ward to send Gabe Flying before even realizing his demigod heritage.
- Zoolingualism (Limited to Equestrians and Marine Life): Percy can understand and talk to marine animals, horses and similar creatures.

- Percy's birth date, August 18, wasn't revealed until The Last Olympian.
- Percy's real name, Perseus, is used by many of his enemies and many gods in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. In The Heroes of Olympus, he is mostly addressed as Percy, with the exception of The Blood of Olympus, in which he is referred to as Perseus by Polybotes and Kymopoleia.
- Percy never revealed his real name to anyone prior to the events of The Lightning Thief, when he first arrived at Camp Half-Blood.
- in Greek Perseus translates to 'destroyer' possibly referring to all the monsters he has slain
- His real name comes from the fact that Perseus, a son of Zeus, was one of the only heroes in Greek mythology to have a happy ending (although Percy originally favoured Hercules).
- Percy claims to have never gotten a grade higher than a C- in The Lightning Thief. However, in The Ultimate Guide, his report card gives him a B- in science. This may be from after the events of The Lightning Thief, possibly from his time in seventh grade (since he and Tyson successfully completed a science exam the fastest thanks to the latter's clumsiness).
- Percy is horrible at archery, as shown in The Lightning Thief, The Battle of the Labyrinth, and The Demigod Files. However, he has improved, as it is shown in his report card that "he has stopped shooting his own teammates."
- Percy has done many things that previous demigod heroes and mortals have such as:
- Kill a snake as a young child as Hercules did (The Lightning Thief)
- Slew the Minotaur twice (once in The Lightning Thief, and later in The Last *Olympian) and defeated Procrustes as Theseus did.
- Killed Medusa as Perseus did (The Lightning Thief).
- Took the Gray Sisters' eye and threatened them for directions to a location as *Jason and Perseus did (The Sea of Monsters).
- Faced the Sirens, Scylla and Charybdis, Circe, and Laistrygonians as Odysseus did (The Sea of Monsters).
- Taunted Polyphemus and escaped his cave as Odysseus did (The Sea of Monsters).
- Got the Golden Fleece as the first Jason did (The Sea of Monsters).
- Battled and defeated the Nemean Lion, fought the Erymanthian boar and the Hydra and entered the Garden of the Hesperides as Hercules did (The Titan's Curse).

- On the cover of The Battle of the Labyrinth, he is seen opening Kronos's sarcophagus, while in the book he was wearing Annabeth's invisible Yankees cap.
- He is claustrophobic, as shown when he went up the arch. However, this doesn't seem to affect him in the Labyrinth.
- Some of the reasons that Percy Jackson got expelled were "accidentally" aiming a Saratoga battle cannon at his school bus, and hitting the wrong lever on a catwalk that made his class take an "unplanned swim" into the shark pool. Both are mentioned in The Lightning Thief.
- During The Son of Neptune, the only things Percy remembers are Annabeth, the fact that he is a demigod, and that Annabeth had some vague connection with San Francisco as well as her being his girlfriend, her looks, and the way she laughed and kissed him every time he did something stupid.
- Poseidon believes that Percy has risen above every hero, even Hercules.
- Percy is the only child of the Big Three without any known living demigod siblings so far.

- Percy appears on the cover and in the storyline of almost every novel in both the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series and The Heroes of Olympus series. The only novel on which he does not appear on the cover or story is The Lost Hero.
- Oddly, Percy seems to understand Latin in The Son of Neptune after being at Camp Jupiter for a short time, while Jason cannot seem to understand Ancient Greek during The Lost Hero even though he has been at Camp Half-Blood for longer. The reason for this is probably because Chiron taught Percy Latin back at the beginning of The Lightning Thief.
- Hazel thinks that Percy and Jason Grace are similar in personality, as they both give off the aura of power and authority, but also a sadness that they have seen their destinies and are waiting for the day when they will face a monster that they cannot beat. Other ways that they have in common (besides being best friends) are:
- They have both been praetor at some point by being raised on a shield.
- They have a girlfriend (Annabeth Chase, Piper McLean).
- Aside from each other, they had a best friend (Grover Underwood, Leo Valdez)
- At some point in the quest, each had girls that did not trust them (Piper McLean wasn't sure of Percy at first and didn't catch her eye as a hero, and Hazel Levesque and Annabeth Chase disliked Jason as he seemed too perfect).
- They were kidnapped and switched by Hera.
- Both of their godly parents (Jupiter and Poseidon) didn't appear at all in the Heroes of Olympus series until The Blood of Olympus.
- Both were under charmspeak by a sorceress (Circe, Medea) which backfired.
- They were both compared to a superhero (Aquaman and Superman respectively).
- He's distantly related to his friend Frank Zhang due to his ancestor Periclymenus, something Percy tells him he is proud of.
- Hera told Percy that the Heroes of Olympus must come together, but Percy was the only demigod to be said to be a Hero of Olympus by the Olympians themselves in The Heroes of Olympus.
- In The Demigod Files, we see that Percy's worst fear is the camp in flames with his friends dead, or it could be interpreted as losing those close to him.
- Percy is Poseidon's favourite son.
- Polybotes thinks if he harms Percy, Poseidon will become weakened due to his love of his son.
- Percy is the only known bearer of the Curse of Achilles not to be killed by their weak spot and the only one known to lose it.
- The River Styx is the only river Percy cannot control or breathe in.
- Percy has two pets, Mrs O'Leary and Blackjack. As a result, he held the record of having the most pets out of every single demigod except for (as revealed in The Son of Neptune) and later tied with (as of The House of Hades) Reyna.
- Percy Jackson is one of only five characters whose birthday was revealed in the books. The other four are Thalia Grace(December 22), Hazel Levesque(December 17), Jason Grace(July 1) and Annabeth Chase (July 12).
- Percy has only led one quest but has been on multiple others.
- In the film adaptions, Percy's age within the first Great Prophecy changed from being sixteen to being twenty, meaning that Percy was sixteen in the first film and seventeen in The Sea of Monsters.
- Percy's favourite brand of chewing gum is Trident.
- Percy told Thalia Grace in The Titan's Curse that he likes listening to alternative rock and bands such as The White Stripes. He says that it's one of the "only CDs he owned that his mom liked."
- As of The Sun and the Star, Percy, Annabeth, Nico, and Will are the only demigods known to have gone to Tartarus and survive the experience.
- In The Battle of the Labyrinth, when Percy first arrived on Ogygia, he said, "Holy Poseidon." In The House of Hades, when Leo Valdez first arrived on Ogygia, he said, "Holy Hephaestus." Poseidon and Hephaestus are their respective godly parents.
- It was mentioned in The Son of Neptune that it was unheard of for a probatio like Frank Zhang to be promoted directly to centurion rank. Percy was still a probatio when he was made praetor, the highest rank at Camp Jupiter.
- He is also the first and only known Greek to hold a position of leadership within Roman ranks.
- Percy is thus far the only known demigod to be involved with two major prophecies in both series: he is the "half-blood of the eldest gods" mentioned in the Great Prophecy and one of the seven half-bloods in the Prophecy of Seven.
- Percy is called "Peter Johnson" several times by Dionysus throughout the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. He has also been called are Perry Johansson, Pierre, Pedro, and Jorgenson by Dionysus in The Battle of the Labyrinth and The Last Olympian.
- As of The Crown of Ptolemy, Percy is the first mortal to have no known Blood of the Pharaohs and first known male to host a goddess.
- Percy is on his school's swim team.
- Percy's astrological sign is Leo, something Leo teases him about in The Blood of Olympus.
- When Percy arrives at Camp Half-Blood and Camp Jupiter, he was looked at as bad luck at both camps when his divine parent was determined.
- His eighth-grade school is never revealed - he was expelled from Meriwether College Prep at the end of The Sea of Monsters but the next school he is mentioned in is Westover Hall, which he is not mentioned as attending but rather simply collecting a pair of demigods (Nico and Bianca di Angelo).
- Besides Tyson, Percy is the half-brother of Pegasus, Chrysaor, Triton, Sciron, a sheepskin rug (Krysomallos/The Golden Fleece) and Theseus.
- Percy has been compared to the much less well-known Percy Caldwell of the 2009 children's comedy Bigfoot, as their first name is the least of their similarities.
- Percy is similar to Emily Jacobs as both are American teenagers who have interactions with Gods (Percy interacts with the Greek Gods whilst Emily interacts with the Roman Gods). Both also have a winged horse (Percy has Blackjack whilst Emily has Pegasus). Both have battled Gorgons. However, unlike Percy who is a demigod and was born with powers, Emily was originally mortal, before becoming the host of the flame of Olympus, which gave her powers such as restoring those turned to stone (including herself) by Gorgons.
- Percy can be compared to Jacob Portman as both of them have no prior knowledge of the world they belong to but are thrusted into after an attack by an unworldly creature and the loss of a loved one. they later go to a magical place that only they can enter and they stand out especially for there powers and ancestor.
