Perseus was a Greek hero who is best known for slaying Medusa and using it as a way to punish people who disrespected him. He also is known for defeating the sea monster Cetus. He is the son of Zeus and Danaë. He is also the husband of Andromeda, who he rescued.
Origin[]
Perseus, the hero that slain Medusa, was born on an island called Argos. Not long after his birth, his grandfather, Acrisius desperately trying to stop the prophecy that foretold that one day his grandson would kill him, had him and his mother, Danaë, stuffed into a wooden box and thrown out to sea. Zeus saved them, by convincing his brother Poseidon to calm the winds and set the box on a safe journey. Poseidon even caused fish to wiggle into the box, so Perseus and Danaë could enjoy the fresh fish. After a few days, they arrived on a island called Seriphos. They still might have died, because the box was nailed tight, but a fisherman named Dictys, rescued them and took them to King Polydektes.
