Peter is the tritagonist of Hanna-Barbera's musical film Heidi's Song. He is a preteen boy who is friends with the usual titular heroine Heidi and herds goats. Peter is voiced by a then-18-year-old Roger DeWitt, Jr. A heroic role this Peter plays is when he rallies his animal friends to ride with him to Frankfurt to rescue Heidi from a rat-infested cellar at the Sesseman house.

Peter's Role in the Film

When Heidi and Peter meet, Peter teaches Heidi about goats.

When Heidi, Spritz, and Peter hang out, Heidi reveals that her grandfather had given Spritz to her, but Peter doesn't believe it, and no more does he when Spritz bleats in agreement. For this, Heidi brings Peter to her grandfather and asks.

When Heidi is taken away much to Peter's longing, he has to work for Grandfather, whose heart is rehardened by it.

Peter is motivated to heroism when a white owl reveals how Heidi is locked away in the Sesseman's basement by their housekeepers. By musical number, Peter uses a bicycle and hooks it up to a wagon. He rides the former, and he has the animals on the latter as they ride into the city to the Sessemans' basement, and they battle the rats. They also take Heidi and, for some good health, Klara Sesseman, to the Alps.
