Phil Connors is the main protagonist of the movie Groundhog Day. While he is technically a hero, he is an arrogant jerk who remains this way until he changes his ways after somehow being forced to repeat Groundhog Day for several years. He's really more of an anti-hero.
He is portrayed by Bill Murray.
Biography
Before he gets trapped in a time loop that causes him to repeat the same day over and over again, Phil is a very arrogant weatherman who acts like a jerk to almost everybody around him. He also takes advantage of the time loop by doing villainous things such as tricking a woman into sleeping with him, punching a man in the face, and kidnapping Punxsutawney Phil the groundhog, killing both himself and the groundhog. In the end, he uses the time loop to help people around the town. In the end, Rita falls in love with him he changes his ways, and the time loop finally ends.
