Pickles is a supporting character in SuperKitties. He is a mischievous cat who wants to be like the SuperKitties, but doesn't quite have the skills to be trusted with a yarn-blaster.
Biography[]
Pickles makes his debut in the episode "Super-Fan." Here, he is portrayed as a lost kitten in need of saving. He is visibly excited upon noticing the SuperKitties, to the point where he even attempts to leave their side despite their warnings. This ends up endangering him, as he is temporarily kidnapped by Mr. Puppypaws, and is only saved when Bitsy manages to surround the depraved dog and foil his scheme. Pickles quickly expresses remorse for this, after which Ginny likened him to Bitsy, who acted a lot like he does. The episode ends with him helping the team return dog brushes to the dogs in town, and he even mentions the idea that he may become part of the SuperKitties one day.
His next major role is "Pickle Problem," where the concept of "crying wolf" is introduced. In a desperate attempt to call the SuperKitties to his picnic, he decides to pretend there's an emergency, taking advantage of the team's role as protectors. He even makes up an emergency involving balloons, which the team quickly disproves. Because of this, they are reluctant to believe him when he realizes that Cat Burglar was actually running around stealing food. Thankfully, after Cat Burglar's defeat, Pickles realizes the error of his ways, and left to finish his picnic on his own. In a surprising twist, the team actually decides to come to his picnic, which delights him.
He doesn't play a major role until "Super-Helpers," where he is given the unenviable task of balance-beam training. He fails numerous times, and Bitsy nervously admits that he might just want to play. While Bitsy's uplifting song sequence does help him calm down, the moment is interrupted when Mr. Puppypaws steals all of the training equipment. The balance beam returns near the climax of the episode, where he realizes that the team needs his balance-beam skills. Despite being reluctant to cross it, acknowledging his numerous failures, Bitsy cheers him up and motivates him to start crossing the bridge. Afterward, he proceeds to alert the team to Mr. Puppypaws' escape, thwarting his evil plan. The episode ends with the SuperKitties handing out badges, symbolizing their well-earned affiliation, and handing Pickles a trophy, for saving them right when they needed him.
He seems to be taking a turn for the worse in "Hanukkah Rescue." He accidentally destroys his family's menorah, and decides that if he's going to make up for it, he's going to steal the one placed in the middle of Kittydale Park. Unfortunately, he finds it far too large to move to his house, and Zsa-Zsa is also after the menorah, possibly for even more depraved reasons. He is eventually asked about the motivation for this villainous deed, to which he responds by admitting that he broke his family's menorah. After the team manages to fix it, they remind him that the large menorah was for all of Kittydale, and help him return it to the park. Once the town is reunited, Pickles' fate is left ambiguous, although it is likely that he wasn't punished for the whole ordeal.
However, he quickly recovers from this in "Pumpkin Parade," where he plays a more supporting role, being a silly trick-or-treater dressed as a pumpkin for the titular costume contest. Unfortunately, his costume, alongside many others, are stolen by Mr. Puppypaws, which could suggest that they have some sort of character-specific conflict. However, this interpretation is up for debate, as Mr. Puppypaws is laser-focused on stealing the costumes to win the contest. After the SuperKitties defeat him and return the costumes, Pickles surprises everyone by actually winning the contest, and obtaining another trophy.
Personality[]
Pickles is a well-intentioned child, who always looks up to the SuperKitties and even wishes to be like them someday. The only reason he hasn't become one yet is because he can still be naughty and selfish sometimes. Despite this, he can sometimes show his more innocent side, as he struggles with many of the same developmental challenges as Bitsy does. While he doesn't have a lot of screen time in the show, he is still relatable to the audience and just wants to have fun.
Appearance[]
He is a small calico cat with six whiskers, centered around his pink nose. He has green eyes, and white patches around his paws and left eye.
