Pico is a minor character of Disney's 60th animated feature film, Encanto. He is a toucan bird from the forest near Encanto, who meets with Antonio as soon as the latte gained his zoolingualism gift, and called all the animals there to Antonio's room.
His sound effects are provided by Alan Tudyk.
Personality
Pico seems to be friendly and extroverted, asking Antonio if the Encanto wildlife could come to his room, and is with Mirabel as she goes to Bruno's tower vision to find his vision. However, he is also kind of a coward, quitting Bruno's room after he gets scared.
Biography
Pico is the first animal to encounter Antonio after he gains his gift, and asks him if the animals of Encanto's forest could come over to his room. He is at Antonio's gift ceremony party, along with many toucans and other animals. He is later seen going to Bruno's room, probably be a companion in Mirabel's journey, despite flying over all of the many stairs and waiting Mirabel walk up the stairs. After she enters in Bruno's vision room, Pico accidentally drops a pot, which scares Mirabel. And, when multiple rats enter the eyes and nose of a Bruno sculpture, Pico himself gets scared. He is scared away from Bruno's tower after that.
He only appears again in the dinner scene, where he gets scared about a thunder created by Pepa, fleeing out of Antonio's room, as the latter was collapsing along with the house, and coming back to the Casita after it is rebuild.
Trivia
- There are speculations that say that Pico was going to warn Antonio that Mirabel was in potential danger. If it's confirmed, that would made him much more noble.
- His name in Spanish means "beak".
- Despite having an official name, he is only credited as toucan in the end credits.
