History[]
Pete was once a pigeon like all the others, like all the other billions of pigeons that are in New York, but then he was captured by the Kraangs together with Kirby O'Neill, father of April O'Neill, and was transformed into a mutant with a human torso, pigeon head, blue jeans, chimpanzee feet and hands and can now also speak since Kirby taught him and then he also gave him a message to give to his daughter about an imminent danger in New York . It is not known how Pete managed to free himself.
His first appearance was in "The Gauntlet", where for a few days he chased a scared to death April, until during one attack the Turtles ambushed them. Pete panics and begs for mercy, after he explains why he follows April. He informs April and the Turtles that the Kraangs plan to detonate a mutagen bomb in the city. He then reveals the location of the Kraang base in exchange for a loaf of sourdough bread. He then goes with the Turtles to the Kraang's hideout where O'Neil was being held.
In "Metalhead Rewired", Pete is seen as one of the many mutant prisoners of the Kraang. After all the mutants are released, he is seen flying out of captivity and into the portal back to the city.
Pete returns in "Battle for New York, Part 1", where he is seen fighting a Kraangdroid for a loaf of bread while helping the Mighty Mutanimals rescue the turtles from the kraang after rescuing two humans that the Kraang had found, captured, and they were preparing to change. After that they go to the mutant's lair while talking, unaware that a Kraang is following them though. They are introduced to Jack J. Kurtzman, who survived the invasion. Jack tells them that they must all work together to stop the Kraangs and this results in everyone falling out. Suddenly the Kraang along with some Biotroids show up and burst in as they start attacking them all. Jack is shot and wounded while trying to retrieve a disc with information on it much to everyone's (especially Pete's) despair. Leatherhead saves Jack and everyone, they temporarily take refuge in the turtle lair, Antonio's Pizza-Rama, and together they plan to team up to stop the Kraang who want to launch the mutagen with a rocket on earth to make everyone become mutants. The Mighty Mutanimals distract the Kraangs on the launch date, while the Turtles use Donnie's latest invention, the Turtle Blimp, to render the rocket inoperable. However, Kraang Subprime (who apparently survived his presumed death during the invasion) manages to launch the rocket, but Donnie manages to reset the launch dates which sends the rocket flying towards the sun and the Turtles to safety. Pete is suddenly hit by Subprime's Irma headshot which Slash destroys. The Kraang are furious, as the two teams delighted with their victory go to TCRI to enter Dimension X and save the mutated humans.
In "Battle for New York, Part 2", the two teams battle the Kraangs in the TCRI dimension. They manage to open the portal for the turtles outside to enter Dimension X. They are suddenly ambushed by Mrs. Campbell along with some Irmabots and Biotroids. All team members are captured (Pete is shot down by some of the Irmabots in the process) and the portal is deactivated, which leaves the Turtles trapped on the other side. They are all locked up in a glass cage, but they quickly escape thanks to Dr. Tyler Rockwell's abilities, then they reattach the Kraangs and come out victorious and reopen the portal for the turtles, which help teleport humans to earth after the turtles demutate them all and the turtles themselves shortly thereafter. They are seen on certain rooftops in the city alongside the turtles (with the humans free, demutated and returned, power restored, and finally the Kraangs defeated). Then they all start complimenting each other for working together and their plan. Everyone then celebrates and shouts "Booyakasha".
In "Mutant Gangland", the Mutanimals visit the turtles who warn them of Don Vizioso's plan. When Donnie asks where Pete is, Slash nervously replies "We don't talk about Pigeon Pete."
Pete reappears in "Owari", along with the other Mutanimals, the turtles and their friends during Hamato Yoshi's funeral, to pay their respects.

Trivia[]
- Pete is named after Michelangelo's pigeon friend from the episode, "What's Michelangelo Good For?" of the 1987 cartoon.
- Michelangelo insisted on bribing Pete for the information he had with breadcrumbs. As Pete was not human when he mutated, Pete himself stated it would have worked.
- A version of him also appears as a similar character in the IDW comics, where he is also a member of that continuity's version of the Mutanimals. His design was inspired by the 2012 TV series' version.
- It is unknown when he will appear again.
- Pete loves bread, especially sourdough. Later, Michelangelo introduces him to leftover pizza crusts, which he loves just as much.
- For an unknown reason, the "Mighty Mutanimals" don't want to talk about him as show in the episode Mutant Gangland.
- Both kinds of bread are traditionally made from recycled yeast cultures using "start dough" from a previous batch.
- Pete knew where the Kraang were.
