“ | I am Plagg, the Kwami of Destruction. I am everything that is and no longer will be! | „ |
~ Plagg while in his true form. |
Plagg is one the deuteragonists of Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir. He is a kwami that is connected to the Cat Miraculous, and with his power, its wearer can use the ring to transform into a black cat-themed superhero, the current wearer being Adrien Agreste.
He is voiced by Max Mittelman who also voiced Ryuji Sakamoto, Harry Osborn, Overflow, Saitama, and Konohamaru Sarutobi as an adult in the English Version.
Appearance[]
Plagg is a small black creature that is 10 centimeters tall. He has a large head and small body. His appearance is very cat-like, having cat ears, a tail, two cat incisors, and green cat-like eyes, along with one whisker on his forehead and one whisker on each cheek.
Personality[]
At his best, Plagg can be described as being carefree and easygoing. At his worst, he is negligent, overindulgent, lazy, and sour. He isn't very helpful and doesn't take situations as seriously as he should. Quite the picky eater, he only enjoys eating cheese, particularly Camembert, which Adrien will feed him not only in order to fuel his transformation into Cat Noir, but also to bribe him when he's being uncooperative.
He seems to like anything that is shiny and will also get distracted by anything that resembles Camembert, including Chloé's bracelet. Often making bad choices, like playing with Chloé's bracelet and causing an argument of it being stolen in the class after it gets stuck on his head, Plagg can be quite troublesome. He also seems to find others' misfortune amusing, especially Adrien's, along with dirty secrets they keep. However, Plagg does have a kinder side that comes out, and he will be serious if the situation requires him to be.
He tries to stop Adrien from transforming, as he hasn't finished explaining everything about the Cat Miraculous, in "Ladybug & Cat Noir", and he thinks Adrien's idea to talk Volpina out of causing harm isn't as useful as being Cat Noir in the episode of the same name.
Abilities[]
Plagg is able to fly and levitate. Despite being small, he can carry objects larger or heavier than him, including a large slice of Camembert or a remote control. Also, he can phase through solid objects, like in "Volpina" when he phases through Gabriel Agreste's safe to get inside and unlock it for Adrien.
As a kwami, Plagg gives the wearer the power of destruction (bad luck) and transforms them into a black cat-themed superhero with the Cat Miraculous. Plagg, during the time his wearer is transformed, is aware of what is going on, albeit not able to communicate with them but can communicate to their transformed holders through their weapon-phones. For example, in "Dark Cupid", he remembers the events going on while Adrien was under the influence of Dark Cupid's arrow and lets him know he said a lot of bad things to Ladybug. Whenever the wearer uses Cataclysm, Plagg begins losing power and eventually can't retain the transformation any longer, leaving the ring and reverting the wearer back to normal. To be able to transform them again, he must refuel by eating, his choice of food being Camembert.

After Adrien is forced to move to London by his father, after one last attempt to help Ladybug with fighting Monarch as the Akumatized supervillain Nightormentor, believing he's in no mental state to aid her anymore, Adrien has Plagg take the Cat Miraculous and return to Paris to protect Marinette. Accepting his decision, Plagg returns to Paris and reunites with Tikki and Marinette, just in time to face Monarch together with turning Marinette into Bug Noire to fight him to stop his mad scheme to use Gimmi to recreate the universe to his desire, despite Bug Noire warning him of the cost of doing so. Once they manage to disarm him of the Butterfly Miraculous, Bug Noire shows Gabriel the last video message from his wife Emilie before she slipped into her coma, moving him to tears of guilt and remorse. At that point, Marinette reverts back, despite Tikki and Plagg's warnings, to convince Gabriel to repent and atone for his actions. However, with his own body about to die from the Cataclysm injury he gave himself earlier, Gabriel uses his last ounces of strength to immobilize Marinette with the Bee Miraculous' Venom, allowing him to secure the Ladybug and Cat Miraculous. Commanding Tikki and Plagg to transform into their true forms, he then asks them to summon Gimmi. Plagg and Tikki perform their ritual to fuse into the Kwami of Reality, and once Gimmi is summoned, remembering what Marinette just told him, and being warned by Gimmi of what must be done to maintain universal balance, Gabriel asks Gimmi to look in his heart and soul for what he wishes for and to sacrifice in return. Understanding his request, Gimmi grants it, sending Gabriel and Emilie to the afterlife before using her power to recreate the universe in accordance with his wish.
After Gimmi has recreated the universe, one month later, as Gimmi, having returned to being Tikki and Plagg, have rejoined Marinette and Adrien as, in accordance with Gabriel's wish, Adrien is living once more in his family estate like he never left to live in London, his classmates are having a pool party at his mansion, joined by his aunt Amelie, cousin Felix, and a healthy Nathalie, no longer suffering the effects from using a damaged Miraculous, Caline Bustier is the new Mayoress of Paris, making it more eco-friendly, Tomoe has taken over Gabriel's company to continue his legacy, and Gabriel himself is hailed as a hero for taking Monarch down with him. As a result, all the Miraculized victims have been returned to normal with no memory of what happened, and the Alliance Rings have been destroyed, melted down into a statue to honor Gabriel.
Plagg reunited with Adrien so he can be Cat Noir again, while Marinette and Tikki, after recreating the Miraculous using the Miraculous Grimoire, entrusts them to the rest of the French Miraculous Superhero Team to ensure that they can't be used for evil again by keeping them separated, having learned from when she kept them all together and improved on her duties as Guardian of them. The Butterfly Miraculous is still MIA after Marinette disarmed Gabriel of it in the old universe, but knows she'll get it back with Tikki, Plagg, Adrien, and the rest of Team Miraculous behind her.
Miraculous Paris[]
Miraculous London[]
Taking place during the final moments of "Re-creation (The Last Day - Part 2)", after Gabriel made his wish to Gimmi and she granted it, Gimmi reverts back into Tikki and Plagg. When Marinette asks them what Gabriel wished for, they somberly reveal that he gave up his life to heal Nathalie, which she overhears. Panicked, on Marinette's command, they transform Marinette into Bug Noire again, but when Nathalie throws down her crossbow and explains she's not there to fight, Marinette holsters her yo-yo as she explains what happened to a healed Nathalie, breaking down in guilt at how it is all her fault Adrien is an orphan now, and she should have made the wish to Gimmi and sacrificed herself instead of Gabriel. Nathalie assures her she made the right choice and Adrien still has the two of them, before taking her to where the Kwamis are to free them. Marinette then uses her Miraculous Ladybug to undo the effects of Nightormentor and Operation Perfect Alliance, saving her allies and restoring the Miraculized to normal with no memory of what happened. After that, she then heads to London to free Kagami and Adrien, spilling a half-truth to Adrien that Gabriel sacrificed himself to end Monarch's threat. She later returns to Paris, and using Cataclysm, destroys any trace of Gabriel's evil actions as Hawk Moth/Shadow Moth/Monarch with destroying his lair beneath the Agreste Mansion to permanently bury the truth. Once she returns home, she voices her concerns of her actions to Tikki and Plagg, feeling extremely guilty and remorseful, but they can offer little to console her since neither of them are a Kwami of Truth.
Later, while Marinette sleeps, Lila/Cerise, as the akumatized villain Specter Looter, sneaks into her room and kidnaps all the Kwamis along with their Miraculous, including Tikki and Plagg, allowing her to summon Gimmi and make a wish. Marinette is saved from being potentially erased by the wish by Bunnyx, and using a Tikki from the past to become Chronobug, is able to intercept Lila as the akumatized villain Timestalker to remove her evidence of Marinette being Ladybug and rewrite it to say Gabriel was Ladybug, before taunting Timestalker and vowing to get the Miraculous of the Butterfly back from the new Hawk Moth until she is sent back to the Burrow and is left trapped there with Bunnyx until they know if Chronobug succeeded in stopping Timestalker and preventing Specter Looter from coming into existence, stealing the Miraculous, and summoning Gimmi to make a wish. When Lila discovers the sabotage, she erupts in fury over how her plan failed thanks to Ladybug's interference, ruining any chance to summon Gimmi. Back in the restored timeline, Marinette decides to restore the Miraculous back to their original appearances, if not better, and send the Kwamis back to their respective members of the French Miraculous Superhero Team on a permanent basis to ensure no one can steal all of them again, especially Tikki and Plagg to summon Gimmi. As they share a goodbye hug with Marinette, a disgusted Plagg watches from afar, but then Marinette tells him he can take the Black Cat Miraculous and return to Cat Noir. Surprised and touched by this, Plagg gives Marinette a quick thank-you hug himself before taking off to return to Adrien. After that, Plagg is reunited with Adrien and Adrien becomes Cat Noir once more, rejoining Ladybug as he promises to her that they'll get the Butterfly Miraculous back from its new wielder "just like old times".
Meanwhile, furious at her plan to summon Gimmi and get all the Miraculous having failed, Lila has Nooroo turn her into the new Hawk Moth as she vows revenge on Ladybug.
