The Unnamed Explorer or Adventurer, better known as the Player, is the main protagonist of the Granny trilogy, a spin-off sequel to the Slendrina franchise.

He is one of the victims of Granny who kidnapped him to her own house and forced him to play a deadly game, where he has five days to find a way out of the dirty old house by solving puzzles and finding a way to escape the old house. Three years after he escaped from Granny's house, the Explorer wants to go on an adventure and accidentally sees a mansion in the middle of the forest and has an automatic gate to the mansion. However, when he was about to go to the mansion he accidentally met an old man Grandpa, Granny's husband, who was holding a gun and shot at him and Slendrina, Granny and Grandpa's granddaughter, to help them stop him. This time the Explorer must find a way out of the mansion for the second time. He is also considered a representation of the player in the real world.

Appearance[]

Based on the icon at the top left of your screen, it can be inferred that the Explorer is a male. He has shaggy hair and is wearing a T-shirt. The Explorer is also wearing either baggy jeans or sweatpants. It is unknown what type of footwear he is wearing, but it seems to be either boots or sneakers. If you look closely at one of his arms, the Explorer is wearing a watch.

In the third sequel, the appearance of the Explorer is now changed and slightly ambiguous and more different from his previous appearance. He is shown as a man who seems to be shirtless and balder.

Personality[]

Not much about the Explorer, but hints shows that he can be good-natured when the situations calls for it. For example, in the original Granny game and Granny 3, if he escort Slendrina's teddy bear to her crib, she will give him an item to help you escape. Likewise, in the good ending, it is implied that he report Granny to the police for her wrongdoing.

Biography[]

Granny[]

The Beginning[]

The story begins when a lost Explorer is seen walking through the forest alone, when suddenly he sees a house in the middle of a dark forest. The Explorer who was previously desperate walks there hoping to get help. Without knowing, he has actually been trapped in greater danger and he was beaten by an old woman. With a wounded head. The Explorer wakes up from his fainting and finds himself in a house, which initially looks ordinary. Until finally, he realizes that this house is full of traps and dangerous tools in it such as a guillotine which is used to behead someone, unfortunately the Explorer accidentally steps on a rope trap with a bell attached which makes the owner of this house come to show the figure of the old woman he had beaten. With the remaining strength he has, the Explorer runs away from the old woman and hides in the narrow parts of the house.

The Message of The Victim[]

On his journey, the Explorer finds many signs of other victims kidnapped by the old woman, ranging from blood stains on the window to a letter written by the victim telling that they were kidnapped when their car broke down in the forest. They were also tortured and toyed with by the old woman in this house for 5 days until they finally gave up on their fate and decided to leave clues hoping that no one else would experience the same fate as them. The bodies of the person can also be found in a room in the sewer area, where they sat as bones. Not wanting his fate to end the same, the Explorer finds several weapons in the house and without hesitation he immediately shoots Granny several times until he almost runs out of ammunition. However, no matter how many times the old woman is shot. She always gets up and chases the Explorer again. Proving that the old woman is an immortal and long-lived creature. Surprising him, the Explorer must find a way to stop the old woman from chasing him and find a way out of the house.

Trivia[]

  • The Explorer has no model attached to himself in-game, and as a result he appear completely invisible. There are a few instances where this is especially noticeable:
    • There is no driver in the Car during the Car escape ending.
    • On the PC version, if the Explorer walks in front of the Flashlight before picking it up, his shadow will not be shown on the wall. Not only this, but if he picks up the Vase, its shadow will completely disappear.
    • Also, there was a glitch that allows the Explorer to walk around during the death cutscenes with freecam. Were he walk to the scenes of the execution, he would notice that he is completely invisible. This was patched in Version 1.5 , as it relies on the Hide anywhere glitch, but a video of it can be seen here.
      • However, this glitch is possible to trigger again in Version 1.7.3, all you have to do is walk towards the Basement to get knocked out by Granny as fast as possible you can. A video of this can be seen here.
  • The Explorer is good at shooting, as he knows where he is shooting with the crossbow and shotgun.
  • According to DVLoper, the Explorer doesn't have identity.
