“ | Oh? Looking for me, were you? Hm. Of course you were. I am Plumeria, the dökkálfr of lewd dreams. | „ |
~ Plumeria introducing herself. |
Plumeria is a secondary antagonist from Book IV of Fire Emblem Heroes. She is a Dökkálfr from Dökkálfheimr.
She was voiced by Yui Horie in the Japanese version and Nicole Gose in the English one.
Synopsis[]
Plumeria first appears to the Order of Heroes, introducing herself as the dökkálfr of lewd dreams. Her first attempt to fight the group ends with her being defeated, lamenting how disgusting they are and how she should remember to battle with Triandra by her side the next time.
In Chapter 4, Plumeria and Triandra formulate a plan themselves, with Plumeria hoping to impress Lady Freyja. As they talked, she mentions that she doesn't find Ljósálfheimr to be as horrible as she expected, while still feeling repulsed just thinking about the humans she draws power from. When Triandra mentions she and Peony are opposites, Plumeria finds that to be perfectly normal.
Later on in the chapter, she Triandra captured Freyr from his palace while the Order of Heroes were gone.
In Chapter 6, she and Triandra arrived in Askr, with Plumeria continuing to feel disgusted being amongst the humans of the realm and hoping to fulfill Freyja's wishes and return to Dökkálfheimr as soon as possible. However, while doing so, Plumeria realizes how familiar she finds the landscape to be, much to her own shock. Though she ultimately brushes it off.
In Chapter 8, once the Order of Heroes entered Dökkálfheimr, Plumeria captured all of them in her Lewd Dream, playing upon their desires of desiring to be loved. However, despite the Order succumbing to the effects of her dream, she is ultimately defeated, though she promises to return once she recovers.
As the Order approaches Freyr's location to rescue him, Plumeria once again appears to stop them. Peony once again wishes for them to stop spreading bad dreams, only for Plumeria to reply that dökkálfr need bad dreams in order to exist.
Following her being defeated yet again by the Order of Heroes, she ends up hearing the strange voice of a young girl. Eventually, Freyja appears to heal Plumeria's wounds.
When Plumeria tells Freyja about the young girl's voice she heard, she learns that the girl was none other than herself when she was a child, and that she was once a human. However, her father didn't love either her or her mother, and her mother in turn threw down the bottom of a well. The cries were Plumeria pleading for her mother to come back. At some point, Freyja found Plumeria and gave her some of the dream nectar, turning her into a dökkálfr.
By Chapter 11, Plumeria has regained all of her memories of her life as a human, having become angered at the Order out for causing her to recall them, wishing that she hadn't so she wouldn't have to remember the pain of her past. Determined to become the hero she wanted to be, she fights the Order one last time, only to fail and be left on the verge of death. In her final moments before succumbing to her injuries, Plumeria remembers the day she became an álfr, in hopes of becoming a hero and earning her mother's love.
At the end of Book IV Chapter 13, Freyja uses the last of her power to revive Triandra and Plumeria. The two ultimately choosing to find a way to revive Freyja from her slumber when they are approached by Líf and Thrasir.
