Polly Ethylene and Tara Phthalate are characters from Teen Titans Go! who appears in the episode of the same name. They are a pair of molecule-looking creatures who joins the Teen Titans to clean the ocean of trash.
Polly is voiced by Hynden Walch and Tara by Tara Strong.
Biography[]
The Titans meet Polly and Tara in the beach when they were in the forms of two plastic bottles, both shows that they are magical plastic molecules made from PETE (Polyethylene terephthalate). Both takes the Titans to the Jump City Recycling Plant and shows the process and utility from recycling. But they also show them that only the 9% of the plastic is recycled, and the rest goes to the Great Garbage Patch. The Titans, Polly and Tara goes there to save the world from garbage. There they find that the ruler is Major A.B.S., a plastic figure who was never recycled for being composed by ABS and does all of this for revenge. To fight him, Polly and Tara turns into different recycled objects that the Titans uses to defeat his garbage robot. But Major A.B.S. uses his toxic gas to prevent Polly and Tara from turning into other recycled objects. The Titans then shows to Major A.B.S. that he actually recycled all this trash using it to build his robot. Something that makes Major A.B.S. change his mind about recycling and decides to join the Titans in their mission of cleaning the world from garbage. Then Polly and Tara helps the Titans to turn all the trash from the Great Garbage Patch into recycled objects, saving the world from garbage.
