Hero Overview

Oh bother.
~ Pooh
When we were grown up, Bambi always wanted me to play this game he invented. We'd throw sticks into a creek or stream and sees which one the fastest. It was stupid, but I'd give anything right now to be sitting in bridge with Bambi tossing twigs into the water. I think about the things I could have done differently. The time I could have spent with---
~ Pooh

Pooh is the main protagonist the 3-part Zenoscope Comic series Pooh vs. Bambi.

Appearance[]

Pooh was depicted as a character that closely resembled both his classic book version and his more mainstream counterpart. He was known for his signature yellow fur and skin, which gave him a warm and cuddly appearance. Initially, Pooh was portrayed as a muscular bear, but after various adventures and the disbanding of his close-knit group, he gradually lost some of that muscle and developed a larger, plump belly.

History[]

Once a human being, Pooh was part of an experiment that transformed him and others into hybrid animals. Alongside his best friends Bambi, Tigger, Owl, Rabbit, and Eeyore, they received orders to attack a base of ecoterrorists. During the mission, Bambi uncovered that the group they were targeting consisted of defectors from the very project that created them.

This revelation shattered Bambi, as he realized he had once been a harmless deer in a Pennsylvania zoo before being transformed. Overcome by rage, he turned on the scientists in the room, intent on vengeance. Pooh, however, intervened, reminding Bambi that their mission was to bring the scientists in alive. Bambi, blinded by anger and despair, revealed a vial of the serum that had altered their lives and suggested they join forces to create a world of hybrid animals.

Pooh tried to reason with his friend, explaining that such a path would only lead to more destruction. When Bambi pressed him to join, Pooh took a firm stand, refusing to abandon their morals and ultimately their friendship. Desperate and fueled by a sense of betrayal, Bambi charged at Pooh, leaving him with no choice but to shoot. The scene of Pooh taking such a drastic action left him shattered, believing he had killed his friend.

In the aftermath, Pooh became a rogue, deeply affected by what had transpired. As he prepared to leave the base, he shared a bittersweet goodbye with Tigger, reflecting on the loss of friendship and the darkness that now surrounded him

Biography[]

Pooh wakes up from his nightmare, his face sticky with honey. He splashes water from a nearby waterfall to wash himself off before drying up. Hungry, he ventures into town to sift through the garbage for leftover food. After filling his belly, he returns to the forest where he spots a deer. The deer reminds him of his once-best friend, but the memory is bittersweet. Suddenly, a scream pierces the air—the sound of a young boy crying out. Pooh listens as the boy's father tries to figure out what’s happening. Panic sets in as Pooh, too, begins to scream, fearing a monster might be on the prowl. Unable to stay, he quickly runs back to his hideout, knowing that danger could be imminent.

As he prepares, Pooh hears the sound of soldiers approaching through the woods. When they shoot at him, their bullets bounce off his fur harmlessly. One soldier brandishes an electric stick, but Pooh isn’t intimidated. With surprising strength, he grabs the soldier, lifting him off the ground and hurling him against a tree. He demands to know why they’re searching for him. One soldier, feeling the pressure, takes off her helmet and defiantly says, “Get stuffed!” At that moment, they both spot a gun on the ground and rush for it. The soldier gets there first, but Pooh, quick on his feet, reaches for his own weapon. Just then, the sound of helicopter blades fills the air, and General Robin descends, ordering his troops to take Pooh alive despite the chaos unfolding around them. Pooh prepares himself for the confrontation, unsure of what will come next but determined to stand his ground.

Pooh makes his way back to the familiar clearing in the forest, where he’s delighted to find his old friend Robin waiting. They catch up, and Pooh learns that everything has changed since they last met. Tigger, in particular, has evolved; she’s no longer the carefree friend he once knew. Instead, she’s taken on a more serious demeanor, consumed by the search for a missing scientist. It’s been over a week, and Tigger is worried something has happened to her. Pooh feels a pang of responsibility and agrees to help bring Tigger back.

The next morning, a military plane is preparing to land on the island where the scientists are believed to be. Just as they approach, the plane is attacked in mid-air, forcing everyone to jump out. They find themselves under attack by terrifying hybrid birds that mercilessly take down soldiers. Amid the chaos, Piglet shouts for everyone to take cover, but it’s too late. The remaining soldiers are no match for the monster-like creatures.

In the frenzy, Piglet finds herself cornered by a gigantic mutant spider, and just when it looks like she’s done for, Pooh leaps in to save her. Together, they fight off the advancing swarm but end up falling into a waterfall, narrowly escaping the clutches of the spiders.

After regaining their bearings, they stumble upon a hidden lab in the heart of the island. Inside, they’re horrified to see tubes filled with various hybrid animals. Just then, they are ambushed by a kangaroo hybrid named Roo, who commands them to stand down. Roo is strong and relentless, overpowering Pooh. But with Piglet’s help, they manage to take him down.

Once Roo is defeated, they demand to know the whereabouts of Tigger. To their surprise, she emerges unharmed, grateful to Pooh for coming to her aid. However, she tells him to drop his weapon, insisting that she needs his trust. Just as they are about to regroup, security guards emerge, commanding them to put their hands up. In a shocking twist, the figure of the Boss steps out of the shadows, revealing himself to be Bambi—alive and well.

Pooh and Piglet find themselves in a dire situation, almost being tortured by Roo. Just in time, Pooh manages to bite Roo's face off, which creates enough chaos for Piglet to use a flamethrower to burn their ropes and free themselves. Amid their escape, Roo nearly gets crushed by a pile of heavy tocks, but Pooh saves him, demanding information about Bambi's plans.

With urgency, Pooh and Piglet rush to catch a plane but are confronted by Tigger, who transforms into her tiger form to attack Pooh. Tigger accuses him of being a traitor and reveals her feelings for Bambi, claiming Pooh should have been killed that day. Piglet, quick-thinking, pins Tigger under some debris, giving Pooh the chance to board the plane.

Onboard, Bambi discovers the stowaway and attempts to confront Pooh. However, Pooh refuses to fight, stating that the bombs in the Heffalumps won't bring peace. To his surprise, Bambi admits that he was unaware of the bombs and demands answers from Kanga. She, in frustration, reveals the true plans, but Bambi is adamant about not following her path.

Kanga, losing patience, orders the Heffalumps to attack, and an unexpected alliance forms as Bambi and Pooh unite to fend off the creatures. As Kanga prepares to activate the bombs, Bambi, feeling remorseful, decides to push Pooh off the plane to prevent the explosion from affecting innocent lives. After escaping the blast, Piglet expresses his willingness to report back to their superiors that all mutants, including Pooh, have perished that day.

A few months later, Pooh is on a mission to rescue captives at an Arctic Circle base. He sneaks into the facility, taking down soldiers quietly and skillfully as he moves through the shadows. The cold air nips at his fur, but his determination keeps him warm.

As he progresses deeper into the base, he encounters mutated creatures lurking in the hallways. With quick thinking and clever tactics, Pooh manages to evade them, using the environment to his advantage. He finally reaches a locked room at the end of a dimly lit corridor. With a mix of excitement and fear, Pooh pushes the door open, and to his relief, he finds his friend Owl held captive inside.
