Popgoes the Weasel is the main protagonist of the indie game POPGOES Arcade. He's also an antagonist in the upcoming game POPGOES Evergreen. Popgoes is an adventurer who seeks to stop the tyrant King Freddy. Popgoes is considered to be a freedom fighter within his universe.
Background[]
Popgoes was created by Fritz Glade in an attempt to create Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. He had accidentally left an error in Popgoes's programming, this would cause Popgoes to go to printers in the night to get parts for Fritz's daughter Bonnie. This would soon allow her to possess a robot known as the "Black Rabbit"
POPGOES Arcade[]
Popgoes lived in the forest with his friends. One day the tyrant King Freddy had planned to make all creatures of the forest immortal. He would unleash a virus turning them all into zombies or extremely aggressive animals who would attack anyone that wasn't infected with the virus. Popgoes and his friends were somehow unaffected by this and after Popgoes and his friends learned of what was going on Popgoes goes on a quest to stop the tyrant Freddy Fazbear. Popgoes would go on a long quest which involved fighting Freddy's knights, those knights being Bonnie, Chica and Foxy. Popgoes would defeat them and gain their powers Popgoes would then use these abilities to fight the tyrant King Freddy. After a long battle Popgoes would take down the tyrant King Freddy and Freddy in his last moments told Popgoes that he would regret this since one day he would die since Popgoes didn't allow Freddy to finish his plans and thus nobody was able to become immortal.
POPGOES and The Machinist[]
Popgoes learns of a new threat, this said threat ends up kidnapping Manora the Mouse one of Popgoes's closet friends and Popgoes is forced to fight Freddy's resurrected knights again. This time the knights are far more deadly and are robots. Soon the threat reveals itself to be "The Machinist" and tells Popgoes that they know them. although Popgoes may not remember them. Soon Popgoes encounters Mangle who happens to be the robot that King Freddy's spirit is possessing. Popgoes would take down King Freddy and just before Freddy died he accepts his fate telling Popgoes goodbye before Popgoes dealt the killing blow to him.
Later on Popgoes would continue to venture throughout the cave that The Machinist had made him enter. Popgoes would end up learning The Machinist's true identity was Morse the Mole. Morse tells Popgoes that he just wanted to be a part of the gang, although Popgoes was unaware of this and this would lead to the two of them fighting. Popgoes would end up victorious and in Morse's final moments he ask Popgoes if things had gone differently if he could have been part of the gang. Because Popgoes had gained his powers from killing the knights unlike how Morse crafted his own powers. Before Popgoes could reply Morse dies right then and there, after a brief moment of silence from Popgoes out of respect for Morse the Mole Popgoes saves Manora the Mouse. Popgoes then returns to the forest with her.
Powers & Abilities (POPGOES Arcade)[]
- Power Copying - Popgoes is able to copy and use the powers of his opponent if he kills them, very similar to Megaman.
- JUMP - Taken from Chica, Popgoes can jump over large gaps and dodge oncoming attacks.
- DIG - Taken from Bonnie, Popgoes can dig to get to places faster and gain a random item in battle.
- HOOK - Taken from Foxy, this hook can deal extra damage in battle and allows him to zipline.
- SCYTHE - Taken from The Mangle, this weapon does the same as HOOK except deals more damage and breaks enemy shields. This weapon has a 100% of landing a critical hit and can reflect attacks back at opponents.
- BLOCK - Popgoes can reduces the amount of damage he takes from opponents.
- ATTACK - This move is a basic attack.
Trivia[]
- In Dawko's video "HOW MUCH FNAF DOES DAWKO KNOW? #1", series creator Kane Carter is represented by the 2016 (POPGOES Reprinted) model of Popgoes the Weasel, but wearing a black vest, green bowtie, and a black bowler hat with a green stripe.
- The green tie and hat stripe on this "Quizmaster" design may have had an influence on the Evergreen design, though it could also just be a coincidence.
- Popgoes' top hat originally belonged to Freddy Fazbear, though a green silk ribbon has been tied around it.
- Popgoes, like the other animatronics in POPGOES Evergreen, has a camera located in his right eyeball. Kane said that is for him to see around the pizzeria.
- A secret NPC in POPGOES Arcade called Whimps the Weeper implies that Manora has a crush on Popgoes the Weasel, but that Popgoes is not as interested in her.
- Kane Carter has said, in a Reddit comment, that Candy and Popgoes are dating one another, though this was framed as a joke (and is essentially impossible).
- "Popgoes" is actually Popgoes’ nickname, his real name being Oliver Evergreen.
