Poplins are a species of flower-like humanoids similar to Toads that appear in the Super Mario Bros. franchise. They are residents of the Flower Kingdom and make their first appearance in Super Mario Bros. Wonder.
Poplins are a peaceful species of humanoid characters that first appeared in Super Mario Bros. Wonder. They are the inhabitants of the Flower Kingdom who serve Prince Florian, just as how the Toads that inhabitant the Mushroom Kingdom serve Princess Peach. They also resemble Toads physically, but their head resembles a flower bud instead of a mushroom, their skin is more olive and their clothes they wear are based on traditional Arab clothing.
Biography[]
After collecting a Wonder Flower, Bowser transforms into Castle Bowser and uses his new power to transform the Poplins' homes into fortresses, trapping the Poplins inside. If Mario and his friends manage to reach the Flag Pole at the end of a level, the fortresses next to them revert into houses again and the freed Poplins inside will reward the heroes with a Wonder Seed. Not all Poplins have been trapped in fortresses, as some are also found at Poplin's Emporium, where it is possible to purchase various items, Standees and Badges in exchange for Flower Coins.
Trivia[]
Poplins bear a resemblance to Toads as they appear in Super Mario Bros.: Princess Peach Rescue Operation!. Other elements in Super Mario Bros. Wonder also seem to resemble those of the film.
