Poppy Pomfrey is a minor character in the Harry Potter series. She is the head nurse of Hogwarts who oversaw and treated injured or sick students at the school.
She was portrayed by Gemma Jones.

Pomfrey was a kind woman who cared greatly about the health and welfare of the students at Hogwarts. She also could be strict and had a tendency to burst into tears at moments where great sorrow was appropriate, but she was capable of controlling herself. In addition, Pomfrey cared a great deal about organization as she would occasionally put her patients' gifts and sweets in order so the Hospital Wing wouldn't be in a mess.

- Her surname sounds like comfrey, a plant in the borage family which can be made into a soothing salve.
- In the movies, Pomfrey goes through many outfit changes where in the second film, her uniform is based off of Victorian and Edwardian nurse's uniforms while in the sixth and eighth films, her uniform is similar to early NHS nurse's uniforms from the 1940's and 50's.
