Patrick "Pat" Clifton, known to his friends as Postman Pat, is the titular protagonist of the British children's series of the same name and its 2014 film Postman Pat: The Movie.
In the original series, Pat is voiced by the late Ken Barrie and in Postman Pat: Special Delivery Service, he is voiced by Lewis MacLeod. In Postman Pat: The Movie, he is voiced by Stephen Mangan (speaking) and Ronan Keating (singing).
Personality and background[]
In the series, Pat lives in the village of Greendale in northern England with his wife Sara, their 6-year-old son Julian and cat Jess.
Pat works as Greendale's postman and delivers letters and parcels to the other villagers. He delivers the post in his red van whilst accompanied by Jess.
Besides doing his job, Pat will also aid one of the other villagers with a dilemma they are in.
In Postman Pat: Special Delivery Service, Pat is promoted to Head of SDS and is able to deliver anything. As part of his new role, Pat collects his deliveries from the main centre in Greendale's neighbouring town Pencaster. He also gets various vehicles such as a helicopter, motorbike (including a sidecar for Jess) and a 4×4 Jeep.

- In 2007, Pat appeared in the music video to Comic Relief's video for "(I'm Gonna Be) 500 Miles", where he alongside Bob the Builder, Basil Brush, Rupert the Bear and various celebrities watched and sang along with Brian Potter (Peter Kay), Andy Pipkin (Matt Lucas) and The Proclaimers.
- In 2009, Pat appeared alongside various other children's TV characters in the music video to "The Official BBC Children in Need Medley" by Peter Kay's Animated All Star Band.
