Prince Florian is the deuteragonist of the 2023 platform game Super Mario Bros. Wonder. He is an anthropomorphic caterpillar who is the benevolent prince of the Flower Kingdom inhabited by Poplin and talking flowers.
He is a small green caterpillar with black eyes, a round orange nose, white gloves and brown shoes/feet. He wears a red cape around his neck and a golden crown that is worn over a single leaf on his head. Flower-shaped Badges can be seen on the crown if equipped.
History[]
Prince Florian holds a special event to talk about the mysterious Wonder Flower when Bowser suddenly appears to take the flower for himself. Upon touching the Wonder Flower, Bowser and his Koopa Clown Car merge with the prince's castle to become Castle Bowser; a powerful new form which Bowser uses to wreak havoc throughout the rest of the kingdom by trapping Poplins inside their own homes.
Prince Florian then joins Mario and his friends to help them defeat Bowser and save the Poplins and the kingdom. During their adventure, Florian can allow the heroes to exploit the power of Badges by attaching them inside his crown. There are three types of Badges: Orange Action Badges that allows an additional ability, blue Boost Badges which can assist the player in different ways, and yellow Expert Badges which enable the use of advanced skills.

Trivia[]
Prince Florian bears a resemblance to Kibidango, the form that Prince Haru takes on upon being cursed by Bowser in Super Mario Bros.: Princess Peach Rescue Operation!. Other elements in Super Mario Bros. Wonder also seem to resemble those of the film.
If the first player's character stands still, Prince Florian can appear over their shoulder. If the player has a Badge equipped, Prince Florian will show what Badge they are using.
