Princess Annika, also simply known as Annika, is the main protagonist in the 2005 direct-to-DVD animated Barbie film, Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus. She is the princess of the northern kingdom who is the younger sister of Princess Brietta and the second daughter of the King and Queen.
She is voiced by Kelly Sheridan in Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus, and Anndi McAfee in the Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus PC game, who also voices Odette in the Barbie of Swan Lake: The Enchanted Garden PC game, and Princess Anneliese and Queen Erika in the Barbie as the Princess and the Pauper PC game. In the Japanese dub from the movie, she is voiced by Maaya Sakamoto, who also voiced Aerith Gainsborough, Elina, Haruhi Fujioka, Mariposa, Kristyn Farraday, Ling Xiaoyu, Padmé Amidala, Motoko Kusanagi, and Princess Lumina.
History[]
At the beginning, in her parents' castle, Annika grew up in the farthest corner of the kingdom - she always thought she was their only child, and she didn't finding out that she had an older siblings until she was 16th years old. Although she loves her parents, Annika is frustrated with the way her parents shelter her, telling her never to leave the castle, without them, and to be too protective. On the celebration of Annika's 16th birthday, she sneaked out go to ice skating, so her mother reminded her that she had disappeared. When Annika returned home, she secretly bought a polar bear with her in which gives her a named Shiver. Annika yelled because her parents wanted her to stay at home all day.
Upon Annika is very frustrated in fact she accused by her parents of ruining her life before she ran to her bedroom. Annika and Shiver sneaked into the ice skating villagers in the town square, but Wenlock, who coming to approached her. Wenlock was presented to Annika, but she refused him. In return, Wenlock turned everyone in the kingdom into a stone statues. Annika and Shiver were rescued by a Pegasus named Brietta. Wenlock gave Annika for three days which agree to marrying him, otherwise everyone in the kingdom would leave the statues forever. Annika was taken to the Cloud Kingdom, the majestic kingdom in the sky, and introduced to Queen Rayla. Rayla told Annika to find the Wand of Light to defeat Wenlock.
Somewhere, Annika could revealed that Brietta was her sister and she had been turned into a Pegasus by Wenlock during her birthday. Annika realized that this is why her parents have been very eager to protect, because they don't want to happening. She is determined to find a way which have time to save them and her people and helping break the spell for her sister. Annika and Brietta continued to sought for the Wand of Light which encountered a handsome blacksmith named Aidan in the Forbidden Forest. Fortuitously, Shiver was falling into trap for the giant, Ollie's home, Annika making her sister and Aidan to be staying it and swifts to saving her which she sliding in way from groves but evidently to be covering in the cooking pot.
Enlist somethings else into point, Annika and Shiver eventually meeting with Ollie, the latter was taking out several vegetables in making offers to cooking during this subsuming. She later sees him for eating onion be fluster of her, which his sound is dreadful hardly. However thought this matters, Annika yelling on Ollie that is very disappointing as she tried to tricks him who resemble to the other giant named Goliath. While also sees Ollie's almighty strength, Annika saw him kissing his arms while he was more stronger. Due to her effected wisdom, Annika decided to picking up her ribbon but used it and hitching the pot by along together with Shiver for they prepared to frees, even thinks about that Ollie, who had mandatory tied on after he using his punched to kissing and crushed the door, and letting the girls would escapes.
After Annika leaving together with Shiver, Ollie then becomes unwieldy as he can't releasing himself causing both his house and the foods were collapses. Aidan helped Annika find her magic wand. After she changed her mind about her situation, they fell in love and saved each other. After Brietta turned back into a human, Annika almost died after being trapped under the snow by Wenlock, who stealing her Wand of Light that flees away. Therefore, Annika arrived in Wenlock's castle with Aidan, which they eventually searching Wand of Light to helps defeated Wenlock and gets rid of his evil magic, she saved everyone in the kingdom and sister. Following Wenlock's defeat, Annika is invited by Aidan which she would to meeting Aidan's father, she and Brietta reunited with her parents, who have not seen it for 16 years. Annika and Aidan are skated together in the Cloud Kingdom, and Rayla turned the wand into the first star she saw at night.
Personality[]
Princess Annika is brave, loving, optimistic, loyal, selfless, and hopeful. She had a habit of sneaking out of her home to skate, which made her parents worried. Despite her rebellious and setback but while about her parents ruining her life, Annika is showing to be very wise as she gained the gems to building the Wand of Light with the help of Aidan. She also saving Shiver from falling down after the cave was in collapse. Annika then stand up to Wenlock's tyranny with at hopes to save her parents and the kingdom. Despite is wants to take revenge on Wenlock from harming her sister, Brietta, Annika never gave up hope when she tried to find the Wand of Light. Upon the instructions by herself, Annika remains the fidelity by Aidan and her parents, countermand her balance in was wishing be refinement by her goodwill to vanquish Wenlock by her straight.
