Princess Ava (Ami in non-English dubs) is the tritagonist of Puppy in My Pocket: Adventures in Pocketville.
She is a female cinnamon-point Siamese cat, though is actually one of the two members of a very rare cat species, Felis aulicus, with the other being her twin sister Eva. She is the monarch of the Pocket Kingdom who rules over the pets with kindness and care, and conducts the Friendship Ceremony, which unites pets from all over the kingdom with lonely children in the real world. She is also the former owner of the Friendship Heart.
On the anniversary of the Pocket Kingdom, Eva, with the help of her two lackeys, stages an incident during Magic’s Friendship Ceremony that teleports Ava to the Big City and puts Kate, the owner of Magic, in her place, and causes the Friendship Heart to cleave in two. Kate eventually takes ownership of one half of the Friendship Heart, along with the Royal Collar, while Eva has the other, and Kate temporarily takes on her duties while she is away.
While in the Big City, Ava meets Wallace, a stray dog who at first she distrusts due to her stubbornness and insisting she take care of herself, but later realizes that he was trying to look after her as she was too unwell and incapable of doing so herself. She and Wallace eventually become best friends in the city.
She is voiced by Giulia Franzoso in the original Italian dub, Prudence Alcott in the prototype English dub, and Julie-Ann Dean in both official US and UK dubs.

Appearance[]
Princess Ava is cream-colored with cinnamon brown colorpoint markings and has sky blue eyes. She wears a golden collar with engravings of hearts, paw prints, and pockets, originally with the Friendship Heart, which appears red and ruby-like, now with the Ocean of Friendship, which is cyan and resembles an aquamarine. She has a yellow star-shaped birthmark on her right paw which signifies that she is a Felis aulicus cat.
Personality[]
As a monarch, Ava is very responsible and takes her duties seriously. However, she simply takes it in stride. To everyone in her kingdom, she is very kind, considerate, endearing, and even friendly, considering all her subjects as friends rather than servants. She never uses any very formal language towards her subjects or talks down to them, instead speaking to them with a friendly tone and being more familiar with them, earning her admiration from everyone around her.
Many pets marvel at how graceful Ava is in her steps, though this is also an advantage for her, as she can make big leaps with ease and run quickly. She especially shows this when she and Wallace had to flee from a pack of angered stray dogs or the Pet Buster, jumping from tire to tire, and when she had to put herself in Magic’s place.
She also shows great empathy for others, even if it means putting herself in danger. Such as when she pushed Magic out of harm’s way during the incident Eva caused, leaving her to be teleported away instead of him.
Ava has also shown her wisdom at times. In Kate’s dream in the second half of the episode “Patience”, she tells her that she needs patience when it comes to rescuing her. When in the Big City, despite her insistence on wanting to take care of herself and not approving of Wallace stealing anything, including food, she eventually learns that sometimes it is the only option if in a risky situation such as where she was, and lets Wallace coach her into adapting to live as a stray.
However, Ava had also shown to be quite stubborn when she was trying to adjust in the Big City, as she was used to living a more well-off and privileged life as a royal in Pocketville. The first few days she was living with Wallace in the city streets, she would always tell him she is really a princess despite his skepticism and denying any food scraps he gives her at first, although she learns eventually. At her worst, she has even shown her arrogance when Wallace was dismissing her injured leg, even abruptly leaving him for a while, though she apologizes for this later.
History[]
Not much is known about Princess Ava’s past. However, what is apparently known was that she became Princess of the Pocket Kingdom and was given the Friendship Heart at one point. One day, when she and her sister Eva were playing outside the castle, she injured her paw from a falling tree branch that Eva had purposely broken off.
Throughout her time as monarch, Princess Ava would perform Friendship Ceremonies so that children in need could have new animal friends to help them with anything they are troubled with. Eventually she would perform one for Dot, a cheerful Dalmatian who was sent to Caroline, a girl in the Big City who longed for a friend to play with. After the ceremony, she discusses with Eva about the upcoming anniversary of the Pocket Kingdom, not knowing that Eva is feigning her excitement and secretly planning something against her.
On the anniversary of the Pocket Kingdom, Princess Ava performs a Friendship Ceremony for a German Shepherd puppy named Oristolfo. However, this day would come down in infamy, as Eva would set her plan in motion by letting Gort distract the Royal Guards and Zull steal the Friendship Heart as it levitates into the air. However, just as Zull uses his teeth to grab the jewel, he ends up biting it in half, causing the Magic Fountain to explode, Princess Ava to end up in the Big City, and Kate to teleport in her place.
Powers and Abilities[]
Agility: Ava has known to make superb leaps from one platform to another and can run off pretty quickly.
Magic: Ava is one of the only pets in the Pocket Kingdom known to be in possession of magic, as she was the former owner of the Friendship Heart. She uses such magic to conduct Friendship Ceremonies and choose the right pet for a child beforehand.
