Princess Bubbles the Mermaid is character from the cartoon series The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog.
History[]
Princess Bubbles is the daughter of King Saline who is the ruler of the underwater kingdom Labyrinth. She is the girlfriend of Surff the Merman who wants to join the Freedom Fighters in the fight against Robotnik. Bubbles is proud of her boyfriend and just like Surff she knows that it is only a matter of time before Robotnik comes to attack there underwater city. But her Saline doesn't believe them he things that they are safe underwater. Her father also doesn't like that his daughter is in love with Surff he does not approve of their love because Bubbles father King Saline who is like most kings believes royalty should only marry other royalty. As Bubbles and Surff tried warn her father about Robotnik and told him about their secret relationship the king got angry and banished Surff from the kingdom. Right after his banishment and just before he can leave Robotnik finds the kingdom and attacks their protection. Robotnik breaks through and kidnaps Bubbles knowing that he can't rescue her on his own and knowing the king won't listen to him Surff decides to look for the Freedom Fighter Sonic. With Bubbles as his hostage Robotnik forces King Saline to give into his demands telling him to give up the kingdoms most valuable possessions the power pearls.
Even though Bubbles is Robotniks prisoner and needs to be rescued Bubbles shows Robotnik that she can still fight and defend herself. She hurts Robotnik when he believes that the princess is helpless and tells her how her boyfriend Surff is going to be eaten by one of his robots. Princess Bubbles is eventually rescued by Surff she then thanks him with a kiss because of his victory against Robotnik King Saline makes Bubbles boyfriend Surff the commander of the Labyrinth defense force. After the defeat of Robotnik and proving his usefulness Saline finally agreed to let Surff marry his daughter. Because his assistance against Robotnik Surff tells Sonic and Tails that he and Bubbles will help them in fight against Robotnik if they ever come back to ask for their help.
