~ Princess Fione after reaching her breaking point.
Princess Fione is a major protagonist in the anime Suicide Squad: Isekai. She is the princess of the Kingdom at war with the Empire.
She is voiced by Reina Ueda in Japanese and by Luci Christian in English.
Biography[]
Since she was a child, Princess Fione wanted to help her Kingdom thrive. When she saw the struggles against the Empire, she tried to recruit more people to the army. When her efforts resulted in a commoner getting killed though, she is stricken with guilt as her mother berates her on how the child's death is her fault.
As years passed, the war didn't get any better with the Empire getting new allies. At the same time, the Kingdom captures a group of strange individuals. One of which Fione notices to look a lot like her. When she hears from Cecil how this group managed to beat enemy soldiers, Fione suggests getting the party to fight for them, even requesting a meeting with them. Upon meeting them, she has Cecil perform a spell that grants the visitors the ability to understand and speak their language to better communicate.
With the squad informed of what they need to do, they are sent to help recover a fortress that the empire took over. Although the squad goes overboard and causes the fortress to collapse, they do succeed in reclaiming. At the same time, it is discovered that the Empire's new recruits came from the same dimension as the squad. When the Squad manage to defeat Ratcatcher with as few casualties as possible, Fione is ecstatic before becoming terrified upon seeing her mother being angry with the result.
Regardless, she maintains faith in the squad's performance even when they get ambushed by Enchantress and Thinker, resulting in the fortress being lost again. The Queen orders for the squad to be sentenced to death, but Fione refuses to allow that after what the squad has done and has Cecil release them to take care of Thinker.
In spite of the Squad's success, the Queen has one of her noblemen belittle the squad and accuse them of merely cleaning their mess, even slapping Harley which results in him getting eaten by Nanaue. With this, the squad is banished from the Kingdom while Nanaue is sentenced to be executed. Fione apologizes to the squad for everything, but Harley chews her out on being a doormat who can't bring herself to say no to mama. After the squad leaves, Pricess Fione decides to go have another talk with her mother.
When she arrives, she discovers her mother to actually be the Undead King in disguise, having killed the real queen some time ago. Horrified, Fione makes an attempt to attack while Cecil protects her and bring her to her room. Realizing that she needs to make a stand of her own, Fione gives herself a makeover as the Undead King sends a nobleman to apprehend her. While the Nobleman expects the princess to be compliant in capture, Fione makes it clear that she is done with people walking all over her as she bludgeons the nobleman with Harley's bat, letting out years worth of suppressed rage. She then orders Cecil to gather up all soldiers who aren't undead.
The Princess then leads her army to battle against the Undead King while doing what she can to help out the squad. She even swaps places with Harley to get even closer, summoning the squad from Nanaue's stomach so that she can behead the Undead King who is then finished off by Harley.
With the Undead King defeated, Princess Fione takes charge of the kingdom and has the Squad hailed as heroes.
