Princess Marisa is a supporting character in the 2016 Disney Channel animated series Elena of Avalor, made their debut in the one-hour special, Elena of Avalor: Song of the Sirenas.
She is the princess of Sirenas in the undersea kingdom, Coronado, she is King Pescoro and Queen Camilla’s daughter and Prince Marzel’s younger twin sister. She wants to bring pace at her people Sirenas and human, because in past Sirenas destroyed many human ships with their songs, but after she, Marzel and Cuco talked with Elena, everything been paced.
She is voiced by Gina Rodriguez.

Due to the fact that her mother was once human and her father, King Pescoro, fell in love with her and saved her life from drowning by turning her into a mermaid, Marisa and Marzel are half human and half sirena. As a result, whenever they are on land, their Sirenas tails transform into a pair of human legs, and thus they can walk on dry land. The first time Marisa walked on dry land she was still an infant. She was seen by two fishermen who, not knowing she was a sirena, mistook her for a normal human child and tried to help her, almost taking her away. Though her parents managed to save her, Pescoro has since convinced himself that humans consider the Sirenas to be monsters, even though they haven't destroyed ships since he rescued Camilla.
Elena of Avalor: Song of the Sirenas[]
Marisa, Marzel, and their seahorse friend Coco are on the surface of the ocean when they are seen from the royal yacht carrying the royal family of Avalor. Upon seeing them, Naomi Turner's parents prepare to open fire on them with their crossbows, only to fire a few shots before Crown Princess Elena intervenes, confronting them for attacking the Siren Prince and Princess when they weren't before. shown no ill intent towards them. As a result, Marisa and Marzel return to their parents to report the incident, but having discovered that they were hanging out on the surface, Pescoro is disappointed in them. However, remembering that Elena tried to protect them before her, despite Marzel's requests to listen to their parents and stay away from Elena and Nueva Vista, Marisa travels to the surface and lures Elena to meet her by charming her with her singing. After revealing her ability to turn her tail into legs, Marisa enlists Elena's help to broker a new peace and friendship between the human citizens of Avalor and the Sirens.
Elena understands that she wants to be friends with her, Elena agrees to help them get to know her cousin, Duke Cristobal, but when she does, Marisa is almost captured by him and his minions, but luckily she is saved by Elena, Marzel and Cuco and the three escape. Marzel gets mad at her sister and because she trusts Elena. However, the next day Marisa secretly swims into the canals of Nueva Vista and horrified sees Elena nearly drowned after she was disarmed by the Scepter of Light and thrown into the water during a fight with Shuriki and Fiero. Thinking fast, she uses a special seaweed called Maligras which she remembers is what her father used to save her mother by turning her into a Mermaid, but despite Marzel's concern about turning Elena into one, Marisa manages to wrap it around Elena's torso in a way that allows her to breathe underwater, but not transform into a mermaid, saving her from drowning. After this, Marisa with Cuco and Marzel take her to her parents trying to get help, but due to the tragic accident that happened in the past, also explained to Elena, Pescoro, although insecure, refuses her.
Anyway, Marisa takes Elena back to Nueva Vista, but when she sees Elena being captured by a double agent Duke Cristobal, she tries to help her, but she is captured too, while Marzel, recovering Elena's Scepter of Light, goes to warn Pescoro of what happened. Elena and Marisa are locked in a tower cell along with Elena's family, but are soon rescued by Gabe, Mateo, Naomi and the Jaquins. They attempt to escape on Elena's royal ship, only to be chased by Shuriki and her crew. But luckily for them, King Pescoro, who convinced himself and Marzel warned him and Camila, and the Sirenas arrive to support Elena. After Marisa is reunited with her family, they use their song to enter the Duke's helmsman, so she spins the Duke's yacht to crash into the sea wall of his palace.
After Elena kills Shuriki, Mateo turns Fiero back to stone, Duke Cristobal is arrested for his crimes and the Delegaos, Cruz and Vestia flee, Marisa introduces her entire family to Elena and so the two princesses forge an alliance and friendship between humans and sirens.
