“ | You? Who are you?! I am Ruto, Princess of the Zoras. What?! Are you saying my father asked you to come her to save me? I'd never ask anyone to do such a thing! "Letter in a Bottle?" I have no idea what you're talking about! My father is worried about me? I don't care! Anyway, I can't go home right now. And you...Get out of here! Understand?! | „ |

Ruto, Princess of the Zoras is a character from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Heir to the Zora throne, Ruto is the sometimes stubborn and rebellious daughter of King Zora XVI of the Zoras. During Link's quest to defeat Ganondorf, she helps him more than once and, at one point, even becomes his fiancée.
Being one of the Seven Sages, Ruto became a legendary figure in Hyrule's mythology to the point where a town was named after her, which appears in Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. She is also the princess of the Zora fish people. Link first meets her inside Jabu-Jabu's Belly, where she is searching for the Zora's Sapphire that Jabu-Jabu swallowed. Later she is revealed to be the Sage of Water.
Personality
Ruto is the stubborn and rebellious princess who tends to do things in her own way while leading her kingdom. In fact, she went into Jabu-Jabu to get her pendant herself, not caring what her father thinks of her vanishing act. Likewise Ruto seems snarky and rude at first, but after Link saves her, she develops her change in personality. When the lives her people are threatened in the future, the Zora princess ventures into the Water Temple to save them. Ruto also has a crush on the Hylian hero Link, but instead chooses to suspend her vow in marriage, so that she may serve as a Sage.
Other Games
Super Smash Bros.
Ruto appears in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, as a ace primary shield spirit that increases the user's power on water attack. Her spirit only can be summoned by using cores from Zora, Princess Shokora and any shield core.
