Princess Zelda is the main heroine of the very first game in The Legend of Zelda series, despite sharing a name, she and the Zelda from The Adventure of Link are not the same person.
Appearance[]
Princess Zelda is shown with shoulder-length red (Or blonde depending on the artwork) hair and pale skin. She primarily dons a traditional pink princess dress in artwork, but is also shown in-game with a different colored dress depending on the tunic Link wears when he saves her which would be green, blue, or red.
In the Satellaview remake, she dons a white dress by default and is shown with blonde hair that reaches her back.
Biography[]
Princess Zelda, as a member of the bloodline that carries and protects the Triforce of Wisdom, breaks the Triforce piece into eight fragments and hid them throughout the realm in an effort to avoid it falling into the hands of Ganon, who seeks to possess the power of the Triforce to plunge the land of Hyrule into darkness. She sends Impa to search for a Hero to retrieve the pieces and bring them back to her before Ganon finds him. Eventually, Ganon learned of what Zelda had done to the Triforce and imprisoned her within his lair under Death Mountain. After Link finds the eight fragments of the Triforce of Wisdom, he travels to Death Mountain and defeats Ganon, freeing Zelda from her prison, and returning peace to the land.
Non-Canon Remake[]
In the Satellaview remake, Zelda's role as the damsel in distress is reprised and the avatar must take over Link's role of finding the eight triforce pieces before facing off against Ganon again. Before the game ends, Zelda follows the avatar to the old man's side as the avatar departs Hyrule.
