Principal Swordmore Brickland is a minor character in the LEGO Nexo Knights TV series. He is an old knight who supervises the Knights' Academy, where children from all across the kingdom of Knighton are trained to become knights.
He was voiced by Michael Adamthwaite, who also portrayed Jay in Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu.

Swordmore Brickland was born a descendant of Reginald Brickland, member of the Order of the Eight and founder of the Knights' Academy. He was a student of said academy as well, where he was friends with Griffiths, with whom he enjoyed misbehaving. Eventually, he graduated from the academy, took part in a number of battles and became the next and latest principal of the academy. As the principal, he left his childish antics behind him and became stoic and dutiful. Of the future Nexo Knights, he took a liking for Clay over him being an obedient and capable student, but grew to dislike his arrogant and disobedient friend Lance, with the two retaining mutual antagonism years later.

Season 2[]
In "Back to School", when the Nexo Knights visited the Knights' Academy to find a book they believed Jestro and the Book of Monsters were after, Brickland took them to the training grounds to fight the freshmen "Knightmares". The knights lost to Knightmares, and Brickland threatened to take away their shields if they didn't perform better. After they saved the school library from the Lava Monsters, Swordmore regained his respect for them.
Season 3[]
Brickland only makes a few appearances in this season, seeing Clay leave for battle in "A Little Rusty" and protecting Knightonia from the Cloud of Monstrox with his students in "In Charge".
Season 4[]
In "Weekend at Halbert's", Brickland, Sir Griffiths and a group of first-graders came on a field trip to Fortrex, the Nexo Knights' headquarters. As the knights were at the party, the fortress was only occupied by Ava, Robin and Merlok 2.0. As soon as the field trip started, he and Griffiths began pulling pranks on the first-graders and each other. When Fortrex came under attack by Stone Monsters, Brickland took part in defending it. After the field trip was over, he thanked Robin and Ava for giving them a good time, but made them promise that they wuldn't tell anyone about his childish antics.

Personality[]
Principal Brickland is a courageous warrior who continued to serve his homeland even after retirement by training new knights to protect it. If the latest edition of Knight's Code, which he wrote, is any indication, he thinks very high of himself, referring to himself as "the single most important figure in the history of this academy", and believes his comrade Ned Knightly to be overrated. He takes this job seriously and has an aggressive stance towards anyone he suspects of slacking off, encouraging them to perform better. This ultimately proves to be a cover for his past as a troublemaker, which he tries to compensate for by keeping order instead.
Brickland is distrustful of magicians and magic in general, due to belief that magic turns its users evil, going as far as threatening to lock up anyone performing magic in his school.

- Although The Knight's Code describes Brickland as having taken part in the same battles as Ned Knightly, this seems to be a continuity error, as Ned is mentioned to have fought Monstrox's forces at least a century ago, and Brickland doesn't seem to be old enough to have even been born at that time. Given the book was written by Swordmore himself in-universe, this could simply be him exaggerating his accomplishments.
