Jonathan "John" I.Q. Neidelbaum Frink, Jr. better known as Professor Frink, is a supporting character of The Simpsons franchise, He is Springfield's local scientist and college professor taking the role of his Phd including B.Sc., Ph.D. M.R.S.C., C.Chem, being portrayed as extremely brilliant archetype of a scientist, though somewhat socially inept. Frink often tries to use his bizarre inventions to aid the town in its crisis, but they usually only make things worse.
He was voiced by Hank Azaria who also voices many characters of the show, notably Moe Syzlak, Chief Clancy Wiggum, Apu Nahasapeemapetilon, Carl Carlson, Superintendent Chalmers, Akira, Cletus Spuckler, Mr. Nakamura, Ian, Waylon Smithers Sr. and many other different characters such as Phil from Hop, Sven from Happy Feet, Bartok from the Black Cauldron, Venom from Spider-man: The Animated Series.
Personality[]
Professor Frink is an eccentric yet highly intelligent and well achieving Scientist who is considered one of Springfield's smartest residents, he enjoys helping the world by patenting useful inventions with well intentions however he get's a bit erratic when his machines backfire, however the most common trait is lack of emotional intelligence such as taking things literally such as giving ordinary tickets to homer's friends, another flaw is his common sense such as when pointing out the itch and scratchy robots will become hostile in 24 hours, they ended up attacking the employees, building a house with legs that run on fire on numerous occasions.
Bio[]
Frink is said to have an IQ of 197 (199 before he sustained a concussion during the collapse of Springfield's brief intellectual junta). He is a member of the Springfield Mensa[4] and a college professor at Springfield Heights Institute of Technology. He is fond of flubber, a material with enhanced bounce properties, of which his basketball shoes are made.
Professor Frink is the inventor of, among other things, hamburger earmuffs, the flying motorcycle and the 8-month after pill. Some of Frink's inventions, such as the automatic phone dialer, work better than others, such as his radio-controlled plane, which carries babies as passengers under their parents' control, or a secure house that sprouts legs and runs away from potential danger (the legs of which often collapsed causing the house to crash to the ground and catch fire). Frink has also discovered and cured "Frink's Disease" and discovered "Frinkonium."
Heroic Acts[]
- In the episode How I Wet your Mother, He plays a supporting role in the episode where he helps the Simpsons family uncover homer's problem after being alerted by a retweet make from Bart Simpson about Homer's constant bed-wetting problem and gave them a dream machine that would uncover the source of the deepest problems inside Homer's consciousness, during the episode after the Simpson family entered inside too many Dreams, Professor Frink while monitoring the device notices Chief Clancy Wiggum along with other officers appear to arrest him and attempts to warn the officers if he would remove the device during the exploration of real dreams would endanger and kill the entire Simpson family in the process, but Chief Clancy Wiggum brushes it off and attempts to unplug the machine from the Simpson's headsets leading to a confrontation between frank and all the officer, Professor Frink bravely fought Chief Wiggum and his cronies before the Simpson family wake up safely.
- In the Treehouse of Horror XIV Segment Finklestein, he plays as a main character where he attempts to reanimate his father's corpse and unintentionally leading to transition into a rampaging monster seeking out body parts, after trying to make amends with his father, the latter decides to continue to harm innocent crowds of people to grow more intelligent, forcing Fink to kick him in the crotch and killing him before sadly holding him after gaining respect from his father at long last and shortly afterwards capturing his spirit inside of a box.
- He clones Homer Simpson many times in the future.
- In Treehouse of Horror VI He attempts to pull back Homer after the latter discovering a 3d dimension however his efforts are futile as Homer ends up in the real world instead.
- In the Simpsons Movie, He attempted to free the entire town of Springfield with an Acid Shooting Ray but realises he had already built the device from the other side of the dome.
- He attempts to retrieve his very first patented invention the Auto-dialler after immediately recognising the technology through Homer's tone in the machine with the purpose of warning school children about snow days and activated a receiver from his phone hack into his machine to return to him before Homer snatches it away.
