Professor MacKrill is the overarching protagonist in the Danish animated movie, Help! I'm a Fish.
He is voiced by Søren Sætter-Lassen in the Danish version and the late Terry Jones in the English version.
Biography[]
Professor MacKrill is an eccentric scientist who Fly, Chuck and Stella meet. He believes that when the polar ice caps melt, the Earth will be flooded and humanity will go extinct. And so, he has created a potion that will turn humans into fish. However, Stella accidentally drinks the potion and turns into a starfish and is later carelessly thrown out the window by Fly.
Later on, Fly, Chuck and MacKrill are out searching for Stella. Before Fly and Chuck can drink the potion, MacKrill warns the boys that if they don't take the antidote in 48 hours, they'll be stuck as fish forever. He is thought to have been killed during the storm scene when his boat capsizes. However, he is revealed to have survived.
When Bill and Lisa return home, Anna is distraught. When Bill, Lisa, and Anna notice Fly's fishing equipment is missing, they travel to the shore to look for it, but all they discover are Fly's rollerblades. The adults are terrified until Professor MacKrill arrives and shows them a film of Stella's transformation.
Later, MacKrill and Bill cross on an improvised watercraft propelled by a water pump. The pump creates an underwater storm that engulfs an army of crabs. The Shark consumes the King Crab but is rendered unconscious when he gets dragged headfirst into the pump.
The trio manages to go to the Professor's lab to get the antidote and drink the elixir and revert to human form just as the parents and Professor MacKrill are leaving the lab, and Chuck and Stella emerge human and hug their relatives once more, but Fly has vanished.
Initially thought to have perished as a fish, it turns out to be the California Flying Fish. Fly is human and well, and he apologizes to Chuck for the disrespect shown to him. The next morning, the family and the Professor enjoy themselves at the sea, and Chuck learns to swim, but Stella is a little upset for Sasha, who reappears and hugs Stella again, then Chuck, and the Professor use the potion to change Sasha into a pony.
