“ | Life in the city became unbearable after my wife left me. Months seemed like years, and my job provided no satisfaction whatsoever. I didn't even have any friends in the city, and I didn't particularly care either. I hated it all. But I remembered my parents' old house in the woods near the city, where I used to live ten years ago. Since they moved away, the house was empty, but I still had the keys. I decided to move there for a short time, just to get some frech air, to feel at least something again. I had a feeling that this is what I needed, more than anything in the world. The journey didn't take too long. I reached the house and decided to stay there for a week. Everything was going fine... Until I heard strange noises outside the house one night. They were driving me crazy. I took a deep breath and decided to go and check it out. | „ |

The protagonist of the game Slender's Woods is an unnamed man who moved to the woods.
Biography[]
After his wife left him, he went to his chaildhood home in the woods on the edge on the city where he lived, and stayed there for a few days by himself, until he heard odd noises. After getting dressed and grabbing a torch, he went outside to find nothing, until some static flashed his vision for a second, making him a bit queezy. He then returned to the house, to find metal bars now blocking the door. He then found a piece of paper on the doorstep that read "CONSTRUCTION SITE - WEST".
After a short wander, he found a small construction site in the woods, with a small foreman's cabin nearby. He entered the cabin and switched on the light to save his flashlight's battery. On the desk, he found a key and a note.
"I've almost lost all hope. I'm writing this story for anybody to find, just to let somebody know the truth behind what happened. My name is Cody Farrior. I'm lost in these woods and I've been wandering for hours. It's the middle of the night, and the batteries of my flashlight are running low. I barely can see where I'm going. But these aren't the only problems I have. There's something wrong with this dark forest, which scares me. I feel like something's lurking in the dark, behind the trees, waiting for me. Thank God I found this little place where I can rest. I can't hide here forever, so I'm gonna go now. I've seen an entrance to the underground tunnels nearby, maybe the tunnels will lead me to an exit."
The protagonist then took the key, left the cabin, and wandered towards a similarly-sized tunnel entrance in the woods. Since the door had a padlock, he unlocked it with the key and entered. He found some ladders, so he descended them and wound up in the tunnels, where he found a metal door that wouldn't open, so he gathered that it was triggered via a switch. After some wandering, he found the panel and used it to open the door, where he then returned to. He found a note with a code on it, so he wandered further and found another metal door with a code panel beside it, on which he entered the code, opening the door. Beyond this door he found another note on a desk.
"It's no use. I've been searching all over the tunnels, but haven't found the exit. The only useful thing I've found was some batteries. While I was searching, I've noticed something weird in the distance. I could barely see it and I'm not sure if it was real or I'm starting to see hallucinations. I think it looked like a tall human being, but with strange, deformed hands. It didn't move when I noticed it, but it disappeared as soon as I tried to come closer. After that, I started to have some kind of headache. Is this the thing what was following me in the forest? What's going on in here? I'm feeling like I'm losing my mind. I've heard that there's a mansion in this area. Maybe I can find someone in there, ot the working phone at least. I don't feel safe anymore."
After reading the note, he found a key hanging from some rope by a wall that had "WILL SWALLOW YOUR SOUL" written on it. He took the key and left the chamber, when the lights went out and a loud crashing noise filled the area. He hurriedly rushed back to the ladder and exited the cabin, when he began feeling sick. However, he pushed onwards, eventually finding a mansion. In the living room, he immediately saw a grandpa clock, and beside that he found a small table with a note on it.
"This place is a dead end. There's no one here, and there's no working phone. God damnit! I'm practically trapped in this forest. I tried to get over the fence on the way to the mansion, but that creature immediately appeared on the other side, waiting for me. It's everywhere and it will not let me escape. I constantly look back to see if it's there. It also seems that the more I look at it, the more painful my headache becomes. What the hell is happening to me, for fuck's sake? I can't hide anymore. I will kill this thing. I'm going to the sawmill, there's gonna be some kind of weapon, or the chainsaw at least. I will kill that abomination even if it's the last thing I ever do."
He then went up the stairs and searched the second floor, where he found the clock's hour hand in a room, and eventually the minute hand in a bedroom. However, whilst in the bedroom, he heard several thuds, and eventually a smash, before he left the bedroom. He found a window smashed once he went into the hallway again, before going back down. He placed the hands on the clock, prompting it to chime. As this happened, he heard a door in the room click, so he opened the door and found that it lead to an underground cave system.
As he traversed the cellar, he began feeling more ill, until he found a large hammer on a table. He then went back up to the forest, found the sawmill, and smashed the gate's lock with the hammer, before dropping it onto the grass. He triggered a switch to unlock a door, then found a trapdoor within the facility that lead underground. He then found a generator that needed fuel, so he scavanged the area and found a jerry can, using the fuel inside to power it up, before wandering further and finding a room with a locked door.
There, on a desk, he found a crudely drawn map of the forest's landmarks, finding out that a key was in a cave in the forest. He went back up to the forest, ran to the cave, grabbed the key, and ran back to the sawmill's underground, unlocking the door to the next room. After running down a vast hallway with lots of turns, he found the door to another room, where he found blood all over the place, and several pages stuck to the wall. He figured that this was what was left of Cody, and that he drew what was on these pages.
In the room just beyond, he then found a hangun with a magazine, and a ladder leading to the forest. Once on the surface again, he shot Slender Man several times, but he was overpowered and killed.
