Pyrrah is a supporting protagonist in the Netflix TV Show The Dragon Prince. She is a Fire Dragon who became an ally of Team Zym and they saved her life from human soldiers, and aided during the battle of the Storm Spire against Viren's army.
Personality[]
Pyrrah has a fiery hot temper and because of that she acts aggressive towards humanity. Although having a bellicose side she’s willing to help others in return for helping her, even if they’re from enemy territory, this reveals that deep inside she has generosity. Pyrrah is also loyal to Zubeia, and helps her anytime she needs her help.
Pyrrah is also pessimistic, as she is insistent that emotional pain can be permanent and rejects Ezran's idea that people can heal through peace and kindness. Ironically, these feelings caused Ezran to briefly vent out his anger over the death of his father before moving on, showing that for as much as Ezran tries to hide it, he too is scared by loss.
Biography[]
Not much is known about Pyrrah, only that she was born less than 75 years before the events of the first three seasons of the show. One day, she went to a human village and started flying over it, with Soren, Claudia, and Corvus noticing her, with Soren deciding to shoot her with harpoons, causing her to put part of the village on fire until Soren put her down and heavily injured her.
Rayla, Callum, and Ezran then see her, so Ezran helps her and takes off the harpoon on her chest, but after seeing an army coming to capture Pyrrah, and understanding that Pyrrah couldn't fly, that they could do nothing to save her, and that Azymondias was in danger, they decide to leave to go back to Zym.
Rayla, however, felt extreme regret for leaving her, so she went back to try to save her life, but Soren believed that she was already dead. To protect Rayla and Pyrrah, Callum used dark magic to free the latter. After geing freed, Pyrrah attacked Soren and heavily injured him, but when she was about to kill him, Ezran and Zym stop her, causing her to fly away due to her not knowing how to talk with the Dragon Prince.
Pyrrah would later appear when Team Zym went to the Storm Spire and started to lose air and fall unconscious, and told Ezran about a spell called Ventis Speralis so they could be able to breathe in the Storm Spire, which Callum would later use to do exactly that.
Pyrrah would then put her hatred aside with Soren when he also came to the Storm Spire after Ezran asked her to, and brought him to Callum so he could give Soren the ability to breathe on the Storm Spire. During the battle of the Storm Spire against Viren's army, she would help Ezran by bringing an army of dragons to stop Viren's army.
However, this failed due to Viren's army being made of magma soldiers that were made stronger with fire, but Aanya would appear with an army and defeating majority of the soldiers and arresting the others after the battle was over.
Pyrrah would go to Ezran's ceremony in Katolis that was made to represent the peace between Xadia and Katolis. She would also bring Soren, Callum, and Bait to the Storm Spire, while also bringing the mirror of Aaravos as well.
After Team Zym failed to get the map to Aaravos' prison from Rex Igneous, Pyrrah would help Ezran, Corvus, Soren, and Azymondias get through the Arcus Vault so they could obtain the Siren Stone, as they needed it to meet Domina Profundis. During this, she would tell Ezran about Domina Profundis' past and why she isolated herself in the ocean. Several days later, Pyrrah would bring Soren and Zym to the Sunfire Elves camp to find Corvus so he could help them in finding Zubeia.
After doing so, they went to the Storm Spire, and Corvus, noticing the blood coughed by Zubeia due to her Sunforge infection, was able to track where she landed. There, Pyrrah left the trio there so they would be able to find Zubeia, and after they did, Pyrrah brought them back to Katolis.
Trivia[]
- Pyrrah's name is based on the Ancient Greek word Púrrhā, which means flame-colored or red fire. It was also the name of the daughter Epimetheus and Pandora in Greek Mythology.
- Most dragons can talk, but it seems that Pyrrah is unable too or she’s just not old enough to do it, like Zym.
- It's revealed in the "Deep Below" short story that Pyrrah is able to speak, but just avoids doing so most of the time.
