| “ | It would be our honor to aid in defeating the Demon King. I swear to you that when the great evil returns, the Zora Sage of Water will awaken once more. The Zora people and heir sage will fight alongside your swordsman. | „ |
| ~ Qia |
Qia the Zora Sage is a supporting character in the 2023 action-adventure video game The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and a major character in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment. She was the Sage of Water, who once fought the Demon King Ganondorf alongside the other Sages. She was granted a Secret Stone from Rauru and vows to serve him to save Hyrule from his reign of terror.
History[]
Past[]
After Queen Sonia was assassinated and had her Secret Stone stolen by Ganondorf, who uses it to become the Demon King, Rauru summons powerful warriors and assembles them in the temple, which would eventually be known as the Forgotten Temple. Qia hears that the last free Gerudo village had fallen, prompting Rauru to bring them to a hidden room where there were four more Secret Stones for them to amplify their elemental powers. Once they were given to them, the Sages vow to protect Hyrule in King Rauru's service.
Qia engages in a battle against the Demon King alongside the other Sages in the Imprisoning War, but Ganondorf was too powerful for them, leading Rauru to take drastic measures by sealing Ganondorf away for several thousands of years. Sometime later, Princess Zelda came to visit Qia and warns her that Ganondorf's seal will eventually break and needs the help of the Zora's power over water to help her appointed knight.
Qia vows to her that she will call upon her descendant to answer her call when the time came and finish what she started. Qia looks on with the others as Princess Zelda swallows her Secret Stone to become the Light Dragon to restore the Master Sword and return to her time.
Present[]
In the present age, Mucktorok severely contaminates Zora's Domain's water supply which rendered the Zoras ill and injured and the Zoras that can manipulate water are trying to keep the pollution from spreading any further. After the way to the Water Temple is opened, Qia calls to Sidon, telling him to come to her.
As they make it to the temple where it supplies all of Zora's Domain's water, Qia instructs Sidon to activate the five faucets so it can be poured onto the fountain where the sludge was spraying in all directions. Once all of the faucets were activated, it dumped all over the sludge, revealing Mucktorok to be responsible.
Once Mucktorok is destroyed, Sidon touches the Secret Stone where he is brought before Qia who commends him for his actions and recounts the tale of the Imprisoning War and warns on what is to come if nothing is done and the pollution that was plaguing Zora's Domain was done to prevent Sidon from becoming the new Sage. She tells him that he must accept his destiny if Hyrule is to survive. Sidon accepts his Secret Stone which then attaches itself to the back of his hand.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment[]
Qia is set to appear in the upcoming title alongside Rauru, Sonia, Mineru, Zelda and the other ancient Sages where they will battle against Ganondorf.

Trivia[]
- Qia's helm that she wears on her head resembles Divine Beast Vah Ruta. It's possible that this is what inspired Vah Ruta's design when it was first constructed in an age where Hyrule was becoming technological advanced before Calamity Ganon first appeared.
- Qia is the only Sage who is the opposite gender to the current Sage, Sidon.
