Qliphah Puzzle 545 is a supporting character in the A Certain Magical Index: New Testament franchise.
She is an artificial demon created by Coronzon in order to kill Aleister Crowley, but after her defeat at the hands of Aleister, she was approached by Accelerator who used his vectors to destroy her contract with Coronzon, saving her, the demon then became his aid and adviser in magic. She also refers to Accelerator as her master. In Genesis Testament she also surveys Academy City along with Kazakiri Hyouka and reports to Accelerator who is in prison.
She is voiced by Nichika Ōmori in Japanese.
Appearance[]
Qliphah Puzzle 545 looks like a cross between a jellyfish and a human she appears in the form of a translucent, barefooted girl with thin wings, a tentacle-like tail, pointy ears and a hole in her forehead. She is described as having a small yet curved frame, with alluring individual parts but imbalanced overall proportions. She has straight rainbow-colored hair which spreads outwards before curling in at the ends, looking like an umbrella. Her mouth is typically shown to be split into a large grin.
She wears a shoulderless dress, made from a collection of trash. It is primarily made from aged and discolored English newspapers with contents which change depending on who is looking at her, sewn together into a dress with a long skirt with slits and a shape resembling petals.
Personality[]
Qliphah was originally created by Coronzon as one of her anti-Crowley measures used solely as a weapon against Aleister Crowley. Aleister has described her structure though to be much simpler than Aiwass and Coronzon. At first Qliphah possessed people and spread madness which influences the possessed person as seen with Kanzaki Kaori. When freed from possession, Qliphah nature is revealed, as she laughs maniacally at almost anything,
Due to Aleister knowledge in the Qliphoth Tree of Life, he was easily able to defeat her and expel her evil. Ever since she became Accelerator master, she became extremely loyal to him. Although she does often joke around a lot around him, much to his annoyance. In truth Qliphah isn't really a bad person, her early actions were only because she viewed herself as a weapon to defeat Aleister, after being freed from her contract with Coronzon she holds no grudge towards the Great Demon. Qliphah also has a partnership with Kazakiri Hyouka as both of them are the eyes of Accelerator while he is in prison.
Qliphah is prone to laughter, she also has a tendency to end her sentences with -desu.
Biography[]
At some point in the past Coronzon created an Artificial Demon from the Qliphoth Kabbalah, the result was Qliphah Puzzle 545 along with Divine Mixtures in order to defeat Aleister Crowley. Inputted with data concerning her enemy, she was set to autonomously activate as a Crowley Killer if Coronzon was no longer in control.
Powers and Abilities[]
Qliphah Puzzle 545 is an extremely powerful non-combatant artificial demon created exclusively as a control and possession specialist, she can cause madness on a nation level without the people even realizing, her powers in controlling others is so great that Shokuhou Misaki powers doesn't even come close to her level. She is also connected to the Beheading Coins when possessing others.
Powers[]
- Qliphoth Empowerment: As her name suggests, she comes from the Tree of Qliphoth which is the inverse of the Sephiroth in the Tree of Life, it was capable of repairing itself after having its spheres destroyed so long as the paths connecting them remained intact, by filling in the holes left behind, though it took a long time and it was helpless while it was doing so.
- Madness Inducement: She can cause other people to go insane and drive them mad due to her connection to the Qliphoth. The demon symbolizes misinformation which creates unnecessary grief and the atmosphere of a hopeless war represented by the toxic sensationalist articles woven into her dress and the Beheading Coins which are connected to her. She also symbolizes lies, appearing beautiful yet wearing a dress of trash.
- Emotion Control: She can influence the emotions of others, particularly their hostility. She used this ability to free Risako and draw out the desires necessary for her to reject Kihara Hasuu's influence.
- Tentacle Control: She can control people like puppets by stabbing them with her tentacles.
- Tornado Creation: Qliphah can form massive tornado's of ice, these tornado's are powerful enough to damage the Queen Britannia.
- Flight: Qliphah can defy gravity and fly freely when manifested.
- Manifestation: In order to manifest herself in the surface world, Qliphah Puzzle 545 has to perform an artificial birthing ritual, gathering the 'trash' in the vicinity towards a point, from which she then emerges from (usually scattering 'trash' in the process), once manifested she floats in the air and doesn't seem to be bound by the earth gravity. She can also manifest wherever there is an AIM field such as the Vanishing Tunnel.
- Demonic Possession: Qliphah is a possession specialist. For most of New Testament 20 she is actually inside Kanzaki Kaori.
Abilities[]
- Supernatural Regeneration: Qliphah can regenerate at superhuman speed, almost nothing can harm her.
- Immortality: Qliphah has a form of pseudo-immortality, as she can never be killed.
- High-level Intelligence: Despite being an artificial demon who constantly laughs, Qliphah is extremely intelligent as once she had accessed authority to the Clonoth thanks to the Will of the Whole Misaka Network she gave Accelerator the necessary amount of knowledge to defeat a Magic God like Nephthys. She also gave Accelerator access knowledge to magic without drawbacks.
- Manipulation Mastery: Qliphah is a master manipulator and influencer, as seen throughth New Testament.
- Poison Manipulation: Qliphah Puzzle 545 is able to produce countless long, miniscule threads with poison needles at the ends.
