Queen Aditi is a posthumous character in the Netflix TV Show The Dragon Prince. She was the queen of the Sunfire elves and the great-grandmother of Janai, Khessa and Karim, who was known for her kindness and peaceful nature, although Aaravos, her killer, notes to Khessa that she was arrogant and predictable.
Biography[]
Aditi was the Sunfire Queen hundreds of years before the show's events, and the grandmother of Janai, Khessa, and Karim. One day, the bloodmoon huntress Kim'dael, begged for her mercy in order to protect herself from the dragons, Aditi agreed, and brought her to the heat of the Sunforge.
There, Aditi put a metal object around Kim'dael neck, which made her scream in pain. After the pain ended, she accused her of lying, but Aditi told her that she didn't and that metal would prove that Kim'dael was hers. She then said that her crimes could not be easily forgiven, and told her that she would need to help countlesd generations of her lineage in order for one of her descendants to be free. Aditi then told Kim'dael that she hoped her descendants would be more merciful to Kim than she was.
Sometime after this, the queen of the dragons Luna Tenebris was killed, causing the other archdragons to fight each other over who would rule over the dragons.
In order to stop the fight and put an end to the chaos that was being caused by it, Aditi convinced all the archdragons to trust her enough to put the decision of who would rule the dragons in her hands. Before she could do it, however, she was murdered by the Startouch Elf Aaravos.
Because of this, the elves believed that Aditi was murdered by the dragons, which nearly caused a war between the two species, but a human was able to find out about Aaravos' crimes, which lead to Avizandum and his mate Zubeia to imprison Aaravos.
Before her death, Aditi also made the royal blood duels illegal. In the present, Viren used Aditi's fate to manipulate her grandaughter Khessa, which lead to her being killed by Aaravos, but not before he told her about her grandmother's fate.
Despite her making the royal blood duels illegal, Aditi's grandson Karim would still illegaly challange his sister Janai to take over the throne, but he failed and Janai had Karim exiled for his crimes. However, during his exile, Karim made a deal with Kim'dael that he would free her from her mercy debt if she stole the Sun Seed for him, although she decided to later abandon working for Karim due to him not being able to free her.
