Henki Maradis, better known as Quiet Robe, is the tritagonist of the 2021 action-adventure game Metroid Dread. He is a Chozo scientist and member of the Thoha Tribe who originally helped contain the Metroids on SR388, only to be forced to serve Raven Beak after the latter ordered the rest of the Thoha to be massacred by the Mawkin Tribe. Years later, he avenges his people by assisting Samus Aran during her mission on ZDR.
He is voiced by Stephen Hughes.
Biography[]
Metroid Dread[]
Quiet Robe was member of the Thoha Tribe, a Chozo community that attempted to colonize SR388 and spearheaded the creation of the Metroid species to prey on dangerous X-Parasites. Although the Metroids were programmed to become docile around the Thoha, it soon became evident that they were evolving into a potential threat to the galaxy.
Quiet Robe and his clan worked alongside the Mawkin Chozo tribe to contain the creatures beneath the planet's surface. Once all the Metroids were contained, the Thoha intended to completely eradicate them and the X-Parasites by destroying SR388. However, the Mawkin chief Raven Beak sought to use the Metroids for universal conquest and had the Thoha Tribe slaughtered to prevent the planet's destruction.
Only Quiet Robe was spared from the massacre as Raven Beak required a single Thoha alive to control the Metroids and was sent to the Mawkin Tribe homeworld of ZDR in preparation to build a Metroid army. However, one of the Mawkin soldiers was found to be an X in disguise and without the Metroids to deal with them, it infects the rest of the Mawkin, forcing Raven Beak to put his plans on hold to contain the X in Elun but by the time he finally confined them, Samus Aran had already exterminated all of the Metroids. But Raven Beak grew aware of the Metroid DNA that she is carrying and sends a video message to the Galactic Federation of the X, but when the seven E.M.M.I. robots arrived instead, Raven Beak damages one of them and forced Quiet Robe to reprogram them to hunt for Samus. Having lost contact with the E.M.M.I., Samus decides to investigate what was going on.
Quiet Robe would first meet Samus on ZDR after saving her from the purple E.M.M.I. patrolling Ferenia. He greets Samus in person to show her that he is not a threat and takes her to his research station to explain himself and Raven Beak's intentions. Once Samus assured him that she would put an end to Raven Beak's plans, Quiet Robe deactivated all the remaining E.M.M.I. and opened the door to Burenia before a Chozo Robot suddenly shot him from behind, killing him instantly. Samus destroys the robot assassin and has a moment of silence to honor the fallen Chozo before continuing on her mission to stop Raven Beak.
After Raven Beak releases the X-Parasites from Elun, a red X infects Quiet Robe's recently deceased body and through it, reactivated the remaining E.M.M.I. Ghavoran, Ferenia and Hanubia, which forces Samus to have to avoid being detected by them again. Quiet Robe X is not seen again until Samus finally defeats Raven Beak and ZDR is on the verge of destruction as a result of Itorash crashing to the ground, causing a catastrophic chain reaction, when Samus is unable to activate her ship due to her Metroid powers being fully awakened and touching any of its controls would drain it of energy as ADAM warned. Quiet Robe X appears before her, and despite Samus immediately raising her guard by pointing her arm cannon at him, he greets her in a similar manner as he did in life. He turns into a red X and wilfully lets Samus absorb him to neutralize her powers and let her touch the controls without draining it, allowing her to manage an escape on her gunship just as ZDR explodes.
