Be careful to avoid the Shadowy Remnant guarding it or you may get a surprise you won't like at all.
~ Tutorial Unit, Five Nights at Freddy's AR: Special Delivery

RWQFSFASXC, better known as Shadow Bonnie, is a recurring antagonist in the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise. Despite his villainous roles, he had a brief stint as a hero when he served as a major protagonist in Five Nights at Freddy's 3.

Shadow Bonnie is a dark ghost that haunts both the old and new Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, appearing in numerous games. Shadow Bonnie takes the form of a silhouetted Toy Bonnie. Shadow Bonnie returns in Five Nights at Freddy's 3 alongside Shadow Freddy, but unlike the latter, Shadow Bonnie is confirmed to be a somewhat-heroic character (although the full extent of this heroism is not known) by helping the Puppet and the Security Guard free the Missing Children.

Biography[]

Five Nights at Freddy's 2[]

Shadow Bonnie makes its first appearance in Five Nights at Freddy's 2. Rarely, the player may encounter what appears to be a shadowy, silhouetted version of Toy Bonnie, with white eyes and teeth, standing on the left side of The Office.

If the player stares at it for too long, it will appear to fade away like Golden Freddy and cause the game to crash. The mobile version, however, freezes the game instead. This hallucination is very much like Shadow Freddy, although it is seen in The Office instead of the Parts/Service room.

Five Nights at Freddy's 3[]

Shadow Bonnie returns as an important character in Five Nights at Freddy's 3, being an anti-villain as opposed to its appearance in the first game. RWQFSFASXC is the second to last key to the puzzle in the quest, to free the children that commence at the end of the game.

The player can play RWQFSFASXC's mini-game by double-clicking its action figure on Night 5. Should the player choose to ignore RWQFSFASXC's mini-game or not meet the correct criteria, it will in return suffer the continuation of the haunted cycle.

As RWQFSFASXC, the player must complete either of the two Scenarios.

  • In Scenario 1, RWQFSFASXC ventures through the room, and exiting through the door.
  • In Scenario 2, RWQFSFASXC contacts a crying child, causing the cake to appear and unlocking a child for the Happiest Day mini-game, leaving the final step for The Puppet.

RWQFSFASXC's job is then complete and is not heard of again, presumably has succeeded his job to free missing children souls.

Ultimate Custom Night[]

Shadow Bonnie returns in Ultimate Custom Night. Instead of being customizable, Shadow Bonnie is randomly spawned in by Dee Dee/XOR. Once spawned, Shadow Bonnie will darken the office making it practically impossible to physically see any animatronics. Eventually, Shadow Bonnie will disappear, with its effect being undone and Shadow Bonnie not appearing for the rest of the night.

Five Nights at Freddy's AR: Special Delivery[]

Shadow Bonnie appears in the AR game Five Nights at Freddy's AR: Special Delivery. He appears when the player collects too much Dark Remnants (Agony). The player has to shine the light on him, otherwise, he will jumpscare the player.

Shadow Bonnie's job is to stop and preventing the player from collecting remnant or harvesting them to fuel Fazbear's Funtime Service animatronics. Because they are sentient metallic substance souls, and Shadow Bonnie needs to protect them by any necessary means. It should be noted, while other animatronics were simply mass product created by Fazbear's Funtime Service, these Shadow Bonnie is the original one not clone.

Other Media[]

Five Nights at Freddy's: Fazbear Frights[]

Shadow Bonnie appears in the story Hide and Seek from the book Blackbird as the main antagonist.

He's a character in the titular Hide and Seek, the new arcade game at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza and Games, where the player is tasked to find him. The teenager Toby, who works at the pizzeria is trying to win the game to show his worth to his older brother Connor, who already got the higher score on every other game at the location, and his distant father, who doesn't care much about him and spends most of his time either working or watching sports ever since his wife left him. Toby, unable to win, tries to cheat, but Shadow Bonnie mysteriously vanishes, so he, in fury, destroys the game and leave the room. immediately after that, all the lights go out, and Toby feels something harming his back. He wakes up in his bed, thinking it was only a dream, until he finds out his shadow has been replaced by the one of the rabbit. He tries to get rid of it, but every attempt at it ends up in a failure. He starts feeling sick, and apparently none, aside from one of the customers at Freddy's, is able to see any difference in his shadow. At school, Toby tries to kill the Shadow by drowning it, going underwater in the pool and almost drowning, only to be saved by Tabitha, one of his schoolmates. Toby tells her about the Shadow, who keeps becoming heavier and darker. Tabitha offers to help her and she gives him his number. The Shadow starts becoming stronger, arriving to the point of forming eyes and a mouth, while Toby keeps getting more sick every day. Toby dreams of being chased by the Shadow in a realistic recreation of the environment in Hide and Seek. In the end, he talks with his brother, and realize that the reason of his constant failures isn't because of someone else, but because of his own competitive attitude, and he starts feeling less angry. Thinking he will never get rid of the Shadow, he accept his fate, but then he notices it's starting to weaken. Toby understand the Shadow was feeding off his anger, and that now he lost much of its power. He decides to come back to Freddy's to finally confront and defeating it. He plays again Hide and Seek, and then rubs his back against a wall, before puking blood from his mouth and gently closing his eyes, apparently dying but also defeating the Shadow.

FNaF World[]

In FNaF World Shadow Bonnie/RWQFSFASXC is one of the hardest characters to unlock. He's a huge supportive character and most of his attacks consists of buffing the entire team and stunning the enemy. Shadow Bonnie is very useful should the play need a supportive character or has a play style that revolves around supporting the team but also stunning the enemy's progress and reviving the entire team as well.

Haunting IconA yellow attack that can turn enemies to stone.

Mimic BallA yellow attack that temporarily mimics every attack used by the players party.

Gift BoxesA yellow attack that revives/gives the party an extra life.

Trivia[]

  • Shadow Bonnie's true name was proven to be RWQFSFASXC in Five Nights at Freddy's World
    • In the game, RWQFSFASXC's loading screen is "Say my name!" reference to their name being a random selection of letters.
  • RWQ's moves in FNaF World are those of a supporter, which could imply that they are benevolent within the main series, especiallly in contrast to Shadow Freddy.
  • Shadow Bonnie was one of the secret characters for Ultimate Custom Night that can be summoned only be Dee Dee, along with Bonnet, Nightmare Chica, Plushtrap, Minireenas, and Lolbit.
  • Shadow Bonnie's name is actually a name created by fans, and not by Scott Cawthon. In the game files of the second game, his name is simply RWQFSFASXC.
  • According to the Fazbear Frights novels, Shadow Bonnie can have sharp teeth and claws. This is likely a reference to the fact Shadow Freddy can appear in dreams as Nightmare, who has sharp teeth and claws.
  • Shadow Bonnie is theorized to be the apparition of one of the employees who wore the Spring Bonnie suit in FNaF 4 minigames, which accidentally malfunctioned and killed the employee. His left-over agony was then manifest by gained physical form as shadow rabbit mascot.
  • Shadow Bonnie is most likely a dark entity made of agony, a human emotion that can give life to objects or create entities created completely out of it. It can be presumed agony is the Dark Remnant from Special Delivery, which summons Shadow Bonnie.
    • However, due to Shadow Bonnie having good intentions and taking part in freeing the Missing Children's souls by put their souls to rest, he is one of the only agony creatures whose goal wasn't entirely wicked, regardless his hostility side. The only other would be the robot version of Charlotte Emily from the Novel Trilogy, who is heavily implied to be fueled by agony.
