Raava is the spirit of good in the world of Avatar: The Last Airbender. Every 10,000
years, she battles Vaatu, spirit of evil, for control of the world.
10,000 years before the time of Korra, she merged with Wan, making him the first Avatar. Whenever an Avatar dies, she carries the memories of the Avatar and his previous incarnations to a new person. During the most recent Harmonic Convergence, she was separated from Korra, but was able to reunite after Korra used energybending to defeat Vaatu.
